Las Olas Guesthouse @ 15th Avenue

We arrived at 2pm and the maid let us in because she said the room was clean, even though check in was at 4pm. No one onsite but the maid, and no one after the maid left.||The OK: The room [generally] was clean. The bed was comfortable enough. TV/ internet worked. Fridge and microwave available.||The BAD: 1) The grounds are unkept, no landscaping, maintenance not done, tables/pool chairs broken, and trash EVERYWHERE. 2) Our room (#7) is not even an option to rent on their own website. It’s next to personal bike storage, very dark, broken chair, trash everywhere. Even broken drug paraphernalia in the ‘garden’ in front of our room. 3) The only soap available was a large bar of Zest soap that had already been used several times. We stayed last night for one night. The location was great, the pool was nice and clean and the parking were great, room number 1 was horrific. Our feet were black from walking around in our barefeet. There was hair and dirt on all of the baseboards. The bedding was terrible, no sheet on the duvet insert, who knows what was washed. We left early without taking a shower as we just wanted to get out of there. The odor in the room from cleaning products was overwhelming. Do not stay here. It was inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The pictures look great, but are not representative of the place. PS, no one was on the property to take our complaint. Also down the street from the Hustler Club (lots of scary people at night).

Stayed for 1 night with my son to go see a soccer game. The property is kinda run down and not well maintained. Myself another another person trying to check in couldn’t get in the gate as we weren’t provided access details. My son was excited about the pool from the pictures but it was overgrown with weeds and broken patio furniture and debris. The flooring in the room looked like it had been soaked and all started peeling up and bowing. Everything seemed wet and moldy. Even the walls. We essentially slept there and left early. The keypad had died in the morning, so I couldn’t lock up. I tried to call to let them know. Never got a call back.

Great location, fairly easy access and service if you book through the proper channels. Rooms are simple but clean, smart TV was good to have, and pool was very warm and pretty clean as well. Close to many conveniences and not far from the shopping or the strip if you want to head out for a beach day.

Let's start with the positives. The pool area is cute. And kudos to the photographer. Now, the reality. The rooms are incredibly basic. There's a coffee machine and coffee, but no cups. Cold showers. The mattress is on a metal frame with no bed frame. Pretty terrible night of sleep. I'm trying to figure out why the floors feel wet? Is it reality or a nightmare? Leaving on a luxury cruise today, so I guess we will appreciate it even more. Do yourself a favor and upgrade from Las Olas to Motel 6.
