We currently live full-time in our camper, and overall Lakewood has been a really solid place to stay. The location is amazing — direct beach access and close to everything in Myrtle Beach — and there’s always something going on. The amenities are great, especially if you have family visiting. Pools, activities, and events definitely make it feel more like a resort than a basic campground. Since we’re living here in a camper, we do notice it can get pretty busy and loud during peak times. Sites can feel a little tight, and it’s not exactly a quiet, secluded camping vibe — but that’s expected for such a large, popular resort. Overall, it’s a fun, well-located place with plenty to do, especially if you enjoy an active environment. For full-time camper life, it’s been a good experience for us

Horrible experience! People with horses, noise, and the odor of horse manure and urine all over the place and the manager acted like I was the problem when I complained. They offered me another site that was not as good and would only refunded the cost of two night's stay when I left three nights early. So much for the Perry family's legacy as good, Christian people who wanted everyone to enjoy their stay! I will also add the place is simply not as clean and orderly as it once was. Children run unsupervised, ferrel cats are everywhere, internet service in almost non-existent, and the indoor pool, hot tub, and bath houses are outdated. I had decided to never stay there again, but the horse mess everywhere was the last straw, so I left. Other campgrounds in the area are definitely better.

We were absolutely wonderful camping resort. The people are friendly and helpful. The sites for the most part are amazing. One critical thing to note is that each site is very unique. I highly recommend to drive around and check out every site before settling on one. Some sites have completely different sewer, hook ups than others, the first one we were sent to actually had a broken pipe with no thread at all. They do know which sites are concrete and otherwise they do not know which sites are grass or sand. Book with caution, but once you are in, it is a wonderful wonderful beachfront campground. I cannot highly more highly recommend this after spending time at North Myrtle Beach Beach RV Resort & Marina as well as Ocean Lakes, the ladder I stay at strictly only for booked events where we

Been coming here nearly 40 years. We enjoyed it so much, now our adult kids and grandkids come too. Now 4 generations have enjoyed this place. Handicap friendly Nice bath houses strategically placed Excellent coffee shop, trading post and arcade. They are always improving the resort.

This is a friendly, safe, and fun campground for our family with little children (7 & 4). The location is great! I loved having access to the beach, which was a quick 5 minute walk from the middle of the campground. They have a lot of fun activities for the family including large slides, pool, splash pad, indoor pool/jacuzzi, playground, mini golf, paddle boats, and playground. They have a general store with food and ice cream. The location is also nice to access stores and great restaurants. The full hookups were very convenient and nice. The customer service was also very positive and kind. We will be back. I highly recommend this place.
