La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Santa Barbara Downtown

Hey guys, I chose this place strictly on location. A meeting I was in Santa Barbara for was right across the street. The team there is super friendly and helpful. The entrance to the hotel is nice and there is some cool landscaping. Haven’t been there before so not sure if they’re expanding the property or renovating but there is currently some big construction project underway. It didn’t interfere with my sleep though. I paid a little over $900 for a 3 night stay and for that price I did expect better accommodations. The room was outdated and dark. Hopefully this part of the hotel is next on the ongoing project.

The building itself was kinda dirty. The bathroom doors don’t have a door knob or lock so they just slide open after you close them and are see through glass. The rooms don’t get cleaned unless you ask. The “complimentary breakfast” was a Capri Sun, apple sauce and a smushed store bought pastry, in a brown paper bag. The heater/AC was SO loud it was almost impossible to sleep with it on. Since we couldn’t sleep with the heater on cause it was so loud we asked for an extra blanket and they just gave us a sheet. There was also NO PARKING! there was about 10 spots for the whole hotel!! we had to park on the street, in a 15 minute zone (from 8am to 6pm) and wake up early and move our car even farther down the block. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was large and well stocked. Staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent location! Edit: I wanted to add that my mom had a very special necklace that she left in her hotel room by accident. She contacted the hotel and housekeeping had turned it in so they mailed it to her home!

Very clean and family friendly. Had a wonderful stay here, employees are friendly, our room seemed to be updated with modern decor. My kids were super excited that they heat the pool and were swimming in January! Self serve/self make breakfast choices were a very nice treat (Belgium waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, pasteries, toast, bagels, yogurt, juices, coffee, tea etc). This is located within walking distance to large kid friendly park, restaurants, movie theater. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Santa Barbara & recommend this hotel to friends.

Clean, modern, comfortable. I enjoyed the free breakfast. My only complaint is the layout of the bathroom, with the toilet and sink being in full view of each other. Otherwise I have no complaints. It's right on State Street, close to shopping and food. Parking was easy and convenient.
