La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Charleston Riverview

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. DO. NOT. STAY. HERE. This was hands down one of the most disgusting hotel experiences of my life. The minute we walked into the room, something felt off — and it only got worse from there. Cockroaches actually came crawling out of the sink. OUT OF THE SINK. I have never packed my toiletries up so fast in my life. It was beyond disturbing. Then we pulled back the sheets. I genuinely wish we hadn’t. One bed had a crème-colored, pasty-looking stain smeared across the sheets. The other bed had what looked like rainbow-tinted blood stains. I don’t even want to imagine how long those sheets had gone without being properly cleaned — if they were cleaned at all. The entire room felt dirty, neglected, and completely unsanitary. We had no issues with our 3 night stay here. My husband has stayed here before this trip in the motel-like building and had no issues either. Room was perfectly clean. Slight smell of dog but doesn’t bother us. Front desk staff good too. Great location, so close to downtown without being in it. Breakfast was always well stocked

We were first put in the least expensive room, at our request. There are two buildings here by the Marina. One is 30 feet? from a busy road. The traffic noise bothered me so we asked to be moved to the main building. For a little more money we got their Deluxe room facing the marina, bigger, quieter and a beautiful view.

Positive: Location. Negative: 1. Bedroom sheets and comforter not long enough for 5 feet 10 person.2. room smelled like a wet dog (but they allow animals to stay so that’s okay)3. Fire alarm chirping on arrival (but they fixed it after we asked them to so that’s okay)4. Shower

Will never stay at this or any Wyndam hotel again. Filthy with dust and roaches in one room. The other room the A/C-Heat didn't work properly.....buttons either worn or just a cheap product.......no "slip strips" on floor of bathtub so they put a sheet of adhesive back plain plastic in an attempt to cover it up when I complained, 12.00 for parking in a parking space in front of hotel (no parking deck) just a parking lot. 75.00 deposit per room which still hasn't been refunded after charging me for both rooms. This place was an absolute joke run by employees who haven't a clue what service , cleanliness or safety is all about. Bad thing is I came in from out of town to have a 5 hour major surgery the next day and the shower hot/cold didn't work properly either. NEVER....NEVER...NEVER
