La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Tallahassee North

I guess you get what you pay for, but this motel was disgusting. I've traveled plenty & stayed in numerous hotels. I book La Quinta & Wyndham brands often but this was a total disappointment. The rooms had a stench of an odor, there were roaches, the sheets were dirty, & I felt like bugs were crawling over me as I slept. I checked for bed bugs & while I did not see any, I did wake up to a roach on my pillow on my last night. The electricity went out everyday I was there, but not for long. Less than 30 mins each time. The water in the sink wouldn't turn on sometimes. Questionable people were walking throughout the complex all night, as it can be heard from my room. I didn't feel unsafe, just uneasy. Checked in around midnight, made it up to the room 121 with luggage and kids. The room was difficult to find, 400s were the ground floor and 100s were second floor. The only positive thing about the room was the beds were clean. That's all that I cared about at that time. The room had a very strong musty/moldy smell upon entering. Strong enough that I developed a headache from just being in there after an hour. The room was nothing like the pictures posted online. The door's deadbolt had been ripped off, the window to the outside was partially open. I did not feel very comfortable or safe with those to start off with. These rooms were entrance from the outside, not from inside the hotel. There was no screen on the window and it could be opened and closed from the outside. The bathroom floo

We stayed here on our way to Disney. Had my almost 1 year old with us, and we checked in semi late. Staff was nice, and told us how to get to our room. Room was nice once inside, clean. There was a stain on the comforter, but we just threw it off the bed. We just kept the door locked and didnt leave till morning, based on reviews. But honestly, it wasnt bad. Pillows sucked, but bed was OK. For just one night, couple hrs of sleep. It wasnt bad. Breakfast is basically non-existent though. Waffle batter was out. So it was only bagels, toast or chocolate muffin. Didn't like that they held $100 out for incidentals either.

Positive: Nothing Negative: We walked into the room and after about 10 minutes we left and demanded a refund, the room was gross, the shower had some sort of pet droppings and there was mold through the room. This is way below the standards of cleanliness that one would expect.

Outside of the location being right off the highway, everything else was below expectations. If my previous hotel didn’t overbook I would not have stayed here. I don’t smoke and my nose if very sensitive. I bought new sheets, air freshener, portable air purifier to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. Also did a cleaning of dresser tops, remote control, bathroom toilet and sink and tub with disinfectant wipes.
