La Quinta by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale Pompano Beach

I do not know if I can even begin to describe the pleasure I experienced during the nine days I stayed here! I am 83 years old and have traveled from Coast to Coast and border to border staying at almost every accommodation chain in the nation including the Hilton Marriott in New York City as well as Motel 6. They have all been what you would expect for the price! I never gave a review until now. This stay has been beyond exceptional! The entire staff leaned over backwards to ensure set my every need was meant immediately, especially

The staff is pretty friendly except the lady that deals with the breakfast. Rooms are comfortable, however saw a few roaches and smoke was coming through the vents strongly which gave me a headache and I had two smaller kids with me 9 and 6. Altogether the stay was pretty good, pool needed to be cleaned more often but my kids had a good time.

The front desk staff were really friendly. The room was clean and smelled good. The breakfast was a total disaster. It's better not to offer any breakfast at all than to offer what this hotel did. They were out of everything most of the time. But the hotel is a good value for money. And you can get your breakfast elsewhere. Just one thing, it's a shame that not all dog owners pick up after the dogs. The hotel offered free poop bags but there was still so much dog poop everywhere. You make the rest of us dog owners look bad.

On the outside this looks like a decent hotel. In fact it is not. The room had stains all over the carpet , the door looked like it had been kicked in before, the room reeked of old smoke, there had been a leak in the roof that was poorly patched, the bathroom door was modified tobtry to get it past the toilet but it doesn't, bathtub was painted and peeling. It was fairly clean but because it was so neglected it felt dirty. Our dog stayed busy all night smelling the carpet. The breakfast was pastries only not a real breakfast. The area was fairly nice. We left after one day because it was so bad. Could definitely not recommend.
