Kolob Campground

Our first time here. Now to each is their own. For us, the campsites are so close together that we could easily hear everyone’s conversations. It’s a small campground all jammed together, forget your privacy. It is nice that the lake is right there, we paddle boarded and fished. One day we took our e-bikes and went into Zion. The campground is about 35 minutes away. Again, we were there on Labor Day weekend and all sites were full. Not the quiet peaceful outdoors we look for but that might be ok with you. We wouldn’t come back just because of that and like more room to ourselves. The port-a-potties are sitting on a trailer and got pretty gross after a few days with a full camp. The camp host was nice and came around from time to time.

This campground was one we found found on hipcamp.com. We went in Mid-2020 and the weather was perfect during our stay. The family that runs the campground was really helpful with communication and gave us some great suggestions for activities and hikes near the campground. We loved the cool weather on Kolob which is about 20 degrees cooler than the lower elevations of Zion National Park. This campground has been open since 1967, but they just started online reservations. It's a hidden gem near Zion National Park. It was clean and the host checked on us several times without being intrusive. They really care about their land and they made sure to collect trash from our campsite throughout our stay and they rented a propane fire bowl because there was a fire ban in the area. We are al

Absolutely stunning campground. Seriously a gem that is super close to Zion National Park. You climb up in elevation so the weather at the campground is so much more manageable than if you were to camp down in the National Park. Our camp host was very friendly and welcoming and made sure we had everything needed. My only problem was that there is only one vault toilet and it's technically not even in the campground. There are portable toilets, but those are also at the very edge of the campground. It would be nice if another toilet could be put in, or even a couple portable toilets around the campground.

Kolob campground and kolob reservoir is amazing. We spent the weekend up there and it was great. So nice and cool and there is fishing what more can you ask for? Lol.

The camp staff were amazing and the site is so beautiful! Lots of trees and a view of Kolob Reservoir. It's a short drive to access some incredible Zion hikes, and the drive up meanders in and out of the park. Sites are somewhat small, and the camp is crowded in the summer, but overall, this is a fantastic place to camp.
