Knights Inn Lake Charles

Like others who have reviewed this place, I agree that the room was nothing spectacularly good or bad. We stayed here so we could ride the Tour Lafitte and we basically needed a bed and a shower. The bed was comfortable, and the shower pressure was super strong in my room. The air conditioner worked well - quiet and maintained comfort without getting too hot or too cold. Parking is convenient right outside the room, but it is parallel and the driveway is narrow. I decided to write a review because the manager was outstanding and needs to be publicly applauded. I've stayed at this hotel twice, 4 months apart. They remembered me, which I thought was impressive. It's a basic hotel, with well lit parking right in front of your room. The rooms are basic but comfortable: clean, larger than many "budget" hotels, w/microwaves and fridges. I've not used the pool, but I did have breakfast once. Typical cereal, juice & coffee, which is fine by me. A great spot to stop on a road trip along i-10. Regarding the person whose review said they were robbed: I don't feel the area is "that kind of place." Possibly they were an isolated incident? I'd stay here again, for sure.

Our experience was very unsatisfactory. The night clerk was very rude, and they would not honor our CDL discount. When we arrived to our rooms they were very low quality and the furniture had stains on them, the king size bed also only had one pillow. Upon request of extra towels, we were denied, as was the request for another pillow. I'm also not sure of the insects in the Lake Charles, LA area, but there was a scorpion like creature found in one of our rooms and the night clerk didn't seemed concerned. There was also very low water pressure in our shower. We would have been better off using a garden hose to shower with, and the water was so hot it scalded when turned on halfway. There's constantly "non-patrons" driving around the parking lot at random times soliciting stolen items, the building is dilapidated, infested with roaches, and various hazards can be found throughout the rooms. The front desk can be difficult to get their attention for anything however if you do manage to find them they're very nice people. The prices of this place are roughly $63 after tax for a single full sized bed or $320 week for 2 queens. That seems a bit steep for what you're offered but the owners appear to be working diligently throughout the day making repairs to the shortcomings.

Slept great. Found this place with Motel Coupon. I read trip advisor and decided to check it out first. Desk clerk (Andy) was super nice! He gave us really good suggestions for dinner. Please remember, this ain't the Waldorf. It was cheap and clean. That's exactly what I wanted. Great tv channels. A/C worked perfect and quiet. Parked right beside my door. I liked that allot. I was very satisfied staying here.
