Kiota Inn & Event Center Sutter Creek, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Hotel itself is newish and nice. Good size rooms. I was on the ground floor and could hear footsteps in the room above. But my big problem was the $150 authentication they took from my credit card. Its 2 months later and I'm still waiting for a refund. I have sent emails and called. Always its with my manager. I never hear back and never an apology. Getting frustrated. So if you have to use this hotel check that the authentication deposit is returned.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was great and everything was clean and comfortable. I expect to stay with you again. My only complaint is that I was awakened pretty early one morning by the lobby TV. Some programs and commercials are geared to waking people up. Morning shows and commercials that are busy, loud, and annoying for people trying to sleep. If I stay again, I'll try to get a room away from the lobby. I also recommend keeping that volume down and picking shows that match the lobby's calm atmosphere.

We had stayed at this hotel a few times before in years past, but new ownership has made a a fantastic upgrade. Looks great with new paint and carpeting as well as many bathroom upgrades to shower and sink. Beds are great and even pillows exceeded expectations. Very convenient to wine tasting and to the beautiful area.

Not terribly impressed. Refrigerator either didn't work, or wasn't turned on, and I wasted a lot of food because of that; Hotel website info lists "breakfast grab & go" -- There was nothing, Only a coffee pot. Would have asked someone, but the front desk area was deserted. Vending machines didn't work. Alarm clock was set by the last person in my room, and it went off at 535am. Thanks for that! Just didn't seem like anyone was really trying very hard. For the record, the front desk did let me check in 45 minutes ahead of the 4pm check-in time, so that was very much appreciated.

We are gluten-free and most breakfast options were full of carbs, no protein. Walls very thing you could hear both parties on both sides of our room. Our room was promised at 3 but was still being cleaned at 3:30…it was extremely fresh and clean once it was available! Beds are extremely comfortable.
