Hanford House

I have stayed at the Hanford House probably fifteen times over the past few years and I cannot say enough positive things about this gem. The staff is always so warm and welcoming. The rooms are gorgeous and simple. The beds and linens are so dreamy. The location is perfect! You can easily stroll down to the creek, restaurants, shops, and cafes.the complimentary coffee is also delicious. The breakfast and restaurant on site has a delicious and interesting menu! I could go on and on! Since being spoiled at Hanford House, I have found enjoying other high end hotels all over the world more difficult. Hanford house has set a new bar for me in what I now know is possible in hospitality. The staff, services and rooms have consistently surpassed expectations. I can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I have been going here for years and have never been let down. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, very clean. Staff has always been friendly and attentive and the price is reasonable! If you stay on weekdays you get breakfast at the attached eatery, Element, which is very good. The drop scones off by your door each morning as a fun little treat! My only gripe on our last trip was that the restaurant seemed a bit understaffed and our room had a lot of spiderwebs in the ceiling which could be cleaned and add a lot to the atmosphere. The town of Sutter Creek itself is very cute but just be aware *nothing* is open past like 8 pm so be prepared for a quiet night unless you're heading up to the close by Jackson casino or something similar.

We’ve been coming to the Hanford House for many years and have always enjoyed the stay, but… Our last stay was in 2023 and come to find out that the property was sold that year to Ali Ward who operates the “Zella Collection”. Let me list a few things that need attention: - Bathroom lighting is awful. I couldn’t see enough to put my contacts in. Two little bulbs that appear to be 25 watt. - Sink wouldn’t drain - A 30” TV in a sizable room is ridiculous. - When I made our reservations I asked the person to please put us in a quiet room as there are issues with it being noisy with people coming and going in the area below. She said I’ll put you in a premium room -Room 5- that’ll be quiet. Probably the noisiest room yet, right next to their restaurant. Banging and clattering constantly. Prett

You're basically loosing money by not staying here. The price was actually incredible, especially when considering what they provide. The location was excellent, walking distance to everything you'd want to do here. The Breakfast was cooked by the Chief to perfection. The host was so helpful, I told her I was going to drive to charge my car, and she said "we have complimentary charging". Showed me where to park and my car charged over night. Highly recommend.

Lovely Inn with very cute personal touches and an amazing and friendly host Gina. My husband surprised me with an overnight stay here for my birthday and we had an amazing time! The Sutter Creek town is also very nice with a lot of antique stores and wineries. It was just around the corner and we had a great time. The restaurant Element in the hotel was great and the service of all the staff were top notch!
