Wonderful first come first serve campground with large sites (almost all are waterfront). The fee is $20 a night. Vault toilets were pretty clean when we were there (shockingly no flies or smell). I will warn that there is no cell service so just prepare for that. At this campground there is also a small boat launch, water pump, and at least 1 geocach.
Great little campground, stayed a week in summer '25. No bugs, very quiet, was popular as most spots were occupied as soon as someone left. We found fishing in the lake to be very unproductive and saw a VERY healthy black bear just down the road but we had no wildlife problems of any kind in camp, no raccoons, etc. I worked remotely from camp and did have difficulty finding sites with access to the sky but I was able to make it work by putting the starlink on the waters edge. For those concerned about bears, there was no signage about bears in the campground and there were no bear proof trash cans etc, so I assume this campground does not often see bears in camp. Best place for firewood is a roadside stand in front of a house on H-15 a couple miles north of Shingleton, beware of the mosqui
WARNING: Google Maps sent us down Baker Grde, a two-track that was absolutely unsuitable for towing our camper!! We nearly got stuck in the sand (thank God for my 4 x 4!!). Between the sand and the narrowness of the two-track, we bent a jack stand, lost our license plate and broke the vent cover to our stove. It was the longest 3.5 miles we've ever driven! PROS: Rustic campground with 16 large, wooded sites. Fifteen sites are on the lake and the 16th is on a pond. Sites are suitable for tents or medium/large campers. The campground was pretty full while we were there and campers were fairly quiet. The lake is large and clean but appears to be over fished. It is perfect for canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards. There is potable water available via handpump, but very high in iron (wate
A piece of paradise. No cell reception which is awesome. Beautifully secluded lake. Want a break from your busy life, this is the perfect place for you.
Very nice size lots, clean vault bathrooms. Very quiet at night even with highway close.
