Kimar's Resort

Unclean, strong smell of syrup. Had to air out opening all windows which had no blinds. We were creeped out because we couldn’t tell who was living there or a customer. Felt a bit of voyeurism takes place as no blinds, mirrors placed weird and the view went right to a persons house. Drunk guests were creeping around and we had to call the cops. The just never responded or interacted except when we pulled up. Wrong Wi-Fi password written. Missing amenities, continuously stated dosent provide charcoal when it was listed. Need updating their instructions. Dirty dishes, garbage in our fire pit (fire pit and grill were not on property as stated. ) towels looked used, unclean. Great cabin stay in the woods, on the water!Beautiful sunrise and sunset! Quiet atmosphere and very cozy and nice cabins. Pricing was fair and everyone there was friendly and warm. We stayed the night of the 2nd of Sept 2025. Warm evening spent sitting under the moon light down by the water over by the docks. Good beach access and cute lil gift shop and store. Fishing charters available, though we didn’t have time for fishing this stay. Canoes on the beach and plenty of shade comfort here. The Huron #2 is the cabin we rented and it was bigger than we needed. Slept 6 easily but there was just two of us in the queen bed. Very clean and easy to feel at home easily. Stayed u land watched a movie and had a great morning wake up with coffee and peaceful rain falling outside. All the windows open

We LOVED Kimar’s Resort! We really just booked for a place to crash at night but it was so nice we ended up spending more time there. There’s a beach, kayaks, dock, fire pit, gift shop, pavilion by the water - everything for a great stay. The cabins are rustic, cute, clean and have everything you need! Sarah, who runs it, is so kind and gives you recommendations. We found a couple (tiny but still!) yooperlites there too! And we saw the northern lights over the water! So cool!

5 stars all around. Started with Sarah and her amazing communication/flexibility which trickled down to the Charter Capt. Justin. It's a great feeling driving from Kimar's straight to the taxidermist with 2 Master Angler fish. I will forever be loyal to Kimar's and strongly suggest anyone in the area to take advantage. Boats are top of the line as well, hard to beat!

Honestly location was excellent. We stayed in the Erie Cabin which was small but perfect for 2 people especially if your not spending a lot of time inside. I'm not going to go into the negative part of this. We were just disappointed, especially for the price, however maybe the other cabins are just fine. The view and location was excellent! The pictures and the personal detail in the lake house/ guest house on the water for the guest was truely touching in loving memorial of the captain that started the place. We really enjoyed that. It's about the memories and the people before us. The stories and pictures on the wall printed out. The touches like that made this place unique.
