Au Train Beach Campground

My son and I brought our own tent and set it up so I can't really comment on the rooms per se. As far as the service goes. Check in and check out was super simple. We did everything over the phone and the the lot number was waiting for us when we got there. The location is absolutely awesome. I took a journey probably close to midnight across the street onto the beach and it was less than 5 minutes. If memory serves me correctly to get there and I just sat there and stayed up at the stars and it was amazing. Had a great time here. Super simple to find great location and not far from a little bridge over the river where you can jump off the bridge into the river. Great memories for my son and I that hopefully he never forgets cuz I know I never will

I'll preface by saying I am not a camper. I was attracted to this overnight experience because we did a kayak tour with this company a few years ago and had a lot of fun. They are friendly tour guides and kept me and my family safe while taking in the incredible beauty of this part of the UP. Their yurts on the water appealed to me as a great way to dip our toe into camping, and in this time of COVID, a way to be on vacation with some physical distancing from strangers. ||||I booked another kayak trip for my family, but didn't want a package because that would mean 3 nights when we only wanted to try it for one. This is where I made the misstep. I was specifically looking to book a yurt on the water. I read all the reviews about their yurts on the water and learned that yurt #3 was the rig

Wonderful higher end campground with tent sites, yurts, tepees, or "safari tents" to stay in. They have wifi, a camp sink with dish soap, a lounge area with a toaster oven and microwave, a picnic area with various sports equipment, and nice showers and bathrooms! Yiu can buy merchandise, firewood, camping essentials, and ice at the camp office, and the staff are so kind and helpful. The beach is directly across the street, and you're located between Marquette and Munising. While both are a bit of a drive, 30 minutes to Pictured Rocks, it is a beautiful drive. I don't know if there's a comparable campground in the area, considering the amenities you get.

We booked a yurt as part of a package with Paddling Michigan. The yurt was cute and comfortable. The bathrooms are super clean and nice. Yard games and swings around for the kids. It's close to the road and there's some noise at night, but overall we didn't find that to be any trouble. We'll be repeat guests!

Bad service I called the night I got into a car accident and they said that they would get back to me about canceling but never did. My friend had to call them multiple different times about getting a refund and some phones calls they didn’t even pick up making us extremely disappointed. It’s extremely irritating that we were in a car accident that we had no control over and this campground would not give us any money back. After our experience, we don’t plan on booking with this campsite again because we basically wasted our money. This campground is money hungry and I would avoid at all costs. Another campground I canceled with was at least able to give me money back. I highly recommend going to another campground.
