We drove to Kiawah to find a beach and the twatwaffle lady who “greeted” us at the gate was surly and decidedly unwelcoming, borderline straight up rude and adversarial. We decided to go to Folly Beach instead. Maybe encourage the staff to treat obvious visitors with a ounce of grace and kindness instead of overt hostility, there’s a thought, eh? So stupid
Gate guard was so nice and understanding. /sarcasm I've never been to Kiawah before. I didn't know they had only *one* beach open to the public, and their lot has only a very few spaces. I feel like I wasted an hour to visit their pompous high-and-mighty community.
PRIVATE ISLAND to all you no locals. This is not a tourist spot with your family to enjoy. Best privacy and peace and quiet in Charleston!!! A much welcomed escape from the over crowded downtown.
