Key West Inn - Baxley

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This hotel is beyond my wildest dreams disgusting. From the moment you step inside, you feel like you’ve entered a health hazard zone. Unless you want to leave with staph, a nasty virus, COPD, or asthma, do yourself and your family a favor and stay anywhere else.|The level of filth and neglect is shocking—it’s not just dirty, it’s dangerous. The air feels toxic, the rooms look like they haven’t been sanitized in years, and every surface leaves you wondering what kind of bacteria is lurking there. I cannot fathom how this place continues to pass inspections or remain in business.|It’s simply not worth the health of your family. Spend your money on a safe, clean hotel. This place should be shut down, not taking people’s money.

I have been staying at this motel for four weeks while on business and I must say I have been very happy with my stay. The room is clean, everything works, and the maids fix up the room almost daily. Even though the motel is housing some displaced families from the storm, the motel is really quiet at night and I sleep like a baby. Finally, Mrs. Patel does a great job running this place. She is very “hands on” and it shows. I would highly recommend this establishment and I will be back again!

The rooms smells the bathrooms are a nightmare ||Toilets broke lids and shower bath is something I wouldn’t wash a dog in ||Service staff is not bad at all but the owner is a rude disrespectful hateful and if you have a problem she don’t have the time to do anything to either understand or read if you have a papered service dog and thinks she is all knowing have stayed here for multiple years ||Had to stay due to hvac issues and have service dog came in from car it was over a 100 degs and due tripping I am not required to have her on lease she is hand and verbally controlled with out any questionable behavior and yes is registered as well and was a dog handler so started yelling at me not asking but being rude to the point her husband had to step in. So when I first came to this hotel I asked the lady at the front desk to see the room before purchasing. She told me not to look under the sheets or couch bc her cleaners weren't there she almost didn't want to sell me the room and the main reason I wanted to check the room was to make sure there were no roaches or bed bugs. Long story short I got the room for 2 nights and my stay was fine. When I checked out the guy at the desk told me he would try to hold my room for me bc I told him I was planning on coming back. When I finally did the lady was back and Informed me she only had 2 rooms which were smoking rooms I said that's fine. Imagine a list of everything that could be wrong with a hotel, and you'd be describing this one. The building is generally run-down and smells terrible in the hallways. But that's nothing compared to the musty, damp stench in the room! The furniture is falling apart, the air conditioner is falling apart (and does not remove humidity from the room), the carpet is badly stained, the shower head is loose in the wall, the TV had no volume control, etc. I have no idea how this place passes sanitation or fire inspections--it should be shut down. The nice pictures shown are probably from years ago when it might have actually been a nice place to stay--not any more! I'll never return...
