So much fun - wonderful show! We opted for the VIP upgrade and it was well worth it. Ahead of the show we got early entry and were able to visit the food trucks without any lines. Items that were vegan and gluten free were clearly marked. One of the trucks even adjusted a dish for me to be vegan. Good variety by visiting all of them. We also grabbed some pictures ocean side for the sunset. Played some games with the performers on the lawn. The bar flow was quick. When the show started we got a chance to learn the hulu. The show itself did justice to the history and legacy of Hawaii. I don't have other Luaus to compare against but I can say we were thoroughly entertained. With the event being new there were a hiccup or two but they quickly addressed them. We were really happy with our

This brand new luau is a spectacular addition to visitor activities on Oahu's west side. Located oceanfront at the Ko‘olina resort, Kaula Luau presents innovative food and an authentic Polynesian/Hawaiian show that connects Hawaiian culture to its roots in Polynesia through a story of a young Hawaiian girl and her tutu. Unlike most luau, the food at Kaula is presented in food stations (using a plantation themed decor) and offering iconic Hawaii dishes including Kalua Pig and rice, chicken teriyaki, poke, a coconut dessert, salad and more. Guests can browse the food stations to pick out their favorites ... and come back for more. The show features an energetic cast of over 100 performers highlighting the songs and dances of Polynesia - and ends in a spectacular fire knife dance with multipl

Kaula Lu'au is the second production of a Hawaiian cultural council. This means they're doing things just a little differently than most - though the fundamental format of the luau is preserved, everything is more deeply steeped in Hawaiian, Tahitian, and Samoan culture - including details like theming the buffet to a village's places to eat. The luau uses a two act structure - the first more casual and even intentionally cheesy (including a hilarious Texan/Samoan hybrid "Cowboy Lu'au" number), while the second brings a Broadway-tier production value set, strongly told story of the peoples of Hawai'i, and an absolute swarm of killer performances, including a master aerial ring performer and the most epic and blistering paced Fire Knife Dance I have ever seen. Excellent and bountiful food
