What a relaxing place! Our family really isn't the tent type, so we went in search of a place to stay that would allow our son some fun by a Lake. We rented a 2 bedroom cabin and although old, it was kept up very nicely and very clean. We enjoyed using the rowboats, basketball court, paddleboats, and the grill outside our room added to the outdoor experience we were looking for - eventhough our cabin had a full kitchen. We will definitely be back again and loved walking on the road that led to the Double HH Ranch. The owner was very accomodating and attentive to our needs. Lake Vanare was peaceful and we felt safe letting our son kayak with us behind him. Only thing that would made it better would be kayaks available- we brought our own. What a wonderful place to stay, free boat usage and there are lots of fish, although mainly sunfish. The rooms are pretty basic but they have everything you need, and very clean. There's a little beach, and the water temperature is bearable, but can get cold. Exploring the lake is really fun. They have a shared kitchen stocked with all the essentials. Owners were super friendly. Would visit again, and highly recommend!

Had an absolutely wonderful stay. The family that runs it couldn’t be sweeter or more accommodating. It’s a nice, quiet, rustic little spot on the lake. Heads up not every cabin has a lake view, but why do you want to sit in your cabin all day anyway? Walk for 5 seconds and there’s your view! Note: if you’re the type that typically “speaks to the manager” over every tiny little thing that doesn’t adhere to your standards of modern trappings, go stay at a Hilton. If you don’t care that it’s not the most up to date place and has a little character, you’ll love it.

Family has been coming here since they opened. Newest generation of ours to be coming for all 14 years of my life so far! Margret, Martin, and their son our so kind and will do a lot to make your stay make memories. Great fishing, exploration, and countless things to do with a little imagination! Would recommend 1000%

This resort is a wonderful mix of motels, cabins and housekeeping cabins. We have been visiting this location for the past 11 years. It is well kept. It is small enough to not have to worry about where your children are. It has a roped off swimming area on Lake Vanare. This is a small lake that does not have motor boats on it. They have row boats and pedal boats that are free for guests. The housekeeping cabins are wonderful and clean.||||This resort is located five minutes outside Lake George. This makes it convenient to the town but not all the noise. A riding stable is located across the street. The owners live on the premises. It's a wonderful gem.
