Kandahar Lodge at Whitefish Mountain Resort

Very nice lodge! a short drive from Whitefish which is a great thing! Rooms and beds r super cute. The breakfast is outstanding. We were there to travel Glacier National Park and I think everyone there was doing the same thing! it was fun to trade stories of what all of did in the park and what we saw. the front desk was incredible and we will definitely come back and recommend! Also, the front desk has bear spray that hikers have left there as u cannot take it on the plane. we were able to get a can and thank God we didn't need to use it and turned backed in for the next traveler! the huge fireplace room is amazing. we sat there and relaxed with a couple drinks and mingled. we traveled northern Idaho and western Montana and this lodge was our FAVORITE! This lodge was amazing!! The staff are incredible and the location is great- you can walk out and ski to the mountain (or walk, just a few hundred feet away). The lodge itself is beautiful and cozy- you feel like you’re at your grandmas house. They have a community fireplace, bar/restaurant, and they do cute little snacks and hot chocolate from 3-5p. They also provide complimentary breakfast which is simple and very good. There’s also a bus that picks you up if you want to go downtown. We highly recommend you stay here!!

Staying at Kandahar was a true vacation. My family and I stayed for a week and it was truly relaxing. All of the staff went above and beyond; so helpful with any questions. When I say they care, they do. Their shuttle was able to take us and pick us up anywhere on the mountain. Breakfast was delicious, and their hot cocoa and popcorn hours in the afternoon was definitely a cherry on top to a day on the slopes. I could go on and on but if your wondering if you should stay here, you definitely should! Thank you Kandahar staff for a lovely time❤️

By far the best place to stay on Big Mountain. We're local and spend just about every winter weekend at Kandahar. The fire is always stoked, and the staff is always so friendly and inviting. Between the shuttle, ski‑in access, morning waffles, hot tub, and heated boot room, it’s unbeatable. Everything is spotless without ever feeling like an over‑bleached hotel. It’s our freaking favorite!
