Bison Ridge Retreat

Our ski and snowboarding trip to Whitefish was elevated in every possible way thanks to our stay at Bison Ridge Retreat. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found something special. The location is perfect—just minutes from downtown Whitefish with its great restaurants and charm, and just a bit further to Big Mountain Resort. We could hit the slopes all day and be soaking in the hot tub shortly after. We stayed in the main lodge with seven bedrooms, and it was ideal for our group. The space is incredibly spacious with beautiful communal areas that made gathering together effortless and comfortable. Bison Ridge Resorts is an amazing place to stay. The cabins are excellent — comfortable, clean, and perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure. Sledding on site is a blast, and snowboarding and hiking are close by. Very convenient for our recent stay. Downtown Whitefish has a great atmosphere with awesome dining and friendly people. Being so close to Glacier National Park makes this location unbeatable. Highly recommend!

We stayed over Thanksgiving as it was the best family vacation. Our 3 kids (14, 11, and 9) enjoyed the loft and open concept of the cabin. We spent our time on numerous trails (including the one in the property), campfires, and hot tub relaxation. During our stay it snowed 6 inches and it was absolutely breathtaking. We spent quality time together at the cabin cooking meals and playing games. All of the extras were provided which made it easy to know what to bring. Any questions we had were answered promptly and very helpful. We are already planning for a summer visit back as we were all sad when our trip came to an end. I highly recommend adding this place!

Epic trip and stay. Conveniently located just outside of Whitefish. 30 ish minutes from Glacier International Airport, 20 minutes to Whitefish Ski Resort, 10 minutes to Whitefish. Super easy access to everything we wanted to do on our Ski/Glacier trip. Easy to head into town for breakfast on the way to snowboard. Head back to Bison Ridge after Apres ski for a quick hot tub/clean up and 10 minutes back to town for dinner. If you don’t decide to use the nicely stocked kitchen. Bison Ridge was beautifully decorated and very functional. We had a great time dining together and hanging out at the fire pit. Some nights we chose to chill and watch the Olympics. Beds were comfortable and everything was spotless. We will be back.

Bison Ridge Retreat is a 10/10. If you’re looking for a high-end stay without the usual rustic tropes (thankfully, not a deer antler chandelier in sight!), you'll love it! The design is a perfect "Montana-Scandi"—cozy, sophisticated, incredibly tasteful and a great location. Our cabin (#5) felt wonderfully private, featuring a large, private yard with a picnic table, hot tub, fire pit, (and yes—even corn hole), all set against a spectacular mountain backdrop. Inside, the attention to detail is outstanding—from the ultra-comfortable linens to the chef-ready kitchen that had everything we needed to prep a fancy meal after a big day of skiing and exploring. The Location is the perfect "sweet spot." Just 12 minutes to downtown Whitefish (we had a great meal at Jalisco!) and an easy basecam
