K-1 Lodge, Killington

Took the gondola from here up to the mountain for some fall foliage viewing on a Thursday in early October. Just made it before last gondola up at 430. Tram is about 10 mins each way, and we stayed up top 10 mins for some epic views and pics. The foliage was not the best this year, but it was still amazing. Pricey (like $250 for 2 adults and 5 kids), but if you can afford it, worth it, especially if you can stay up there longer than we could (last gondola down was at 5). K-1 lodge had nice bathrooms thankfully, but it also closed in the fall at 5.

So we just drove up and around, exactly yesterday, and it was beautiful. I have 3 videos as well of the on the way trip, but they are 20-30 minutes long, you could see the snow flying off the mountain peaks, I first saw this area in 2016 during February, and decided I wanted a closer look. We took a wrong turn (perhaps right turn, as Dad wanted to see the ski lifts, which I have not ever seen in person. He thought it was pretty cool, despite being scared of heights. The only 2 things are you have to watch out for skiers, and the resteraunts do not open until 4pm.

Nice views from the peak great place to warm up. Can get crowded on a busy ski day so seating can be limited and food choices are too. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Great gondola ride up, there were two weddings taking place, a group of bicycle riders were there, beautiful views. A trail can take you higher up but very steep and rocky.

We had a great experience skiing at Killington. We rented skis, poles, and boots at the K-1 Lodge and it was a seamless and easy experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They also offer free bag storage and ski storage (for a fee). It was easy to carry our skis out directly to the gondola to ride up to the peak to start skiing. Then we could ski right up at the end of the day to drop off our skis and pick up our stuff. The bathrooms were also large and clean. The prices are reasonable, I recommend reserving your lift tickets and rentals as far in advance as possible to get the best price. We will definitely be coming back!
