First time at King of the Hammers. It was awesome. Be prepared if you go. Extremely dusty, trails are everywhere and really rough, people everywhere, so keep your head on a swivel. I highly recommend it. It is pretty pricey, so figure it out. All we got was a wrist band, no info on schedule or a shirt or anything. For $150 cash or $165 card, you’d think we’d get something. That was for one day, it was for multiple days, even if I only wanted a 1 day pass. That’s my only complaint.

Absolutely barren landscape that has its own beauty to be discovered during all the different seasons. Most notably used during north America's annual largest offroad event "KING OF the HAMMERS" thats held in during the first week of February. In all likelihood, if you're coming here its during that event. Here's what to know, it is high desert at a base altitude of 2300ft all the way to double that around Hartwell Hills. Which makes for a wild temperature swing changing up to 80° in a single 24hr period. So if you're planning on visiting this area bring clothing to keep you comfortable from 10°F up to 88°F. Also I would not recommend any tent camping. It is windy and there isn't much for solid ground to anchor a tent to. Plus the night time temperatures are usually too extreme for most te

Had an excellent trip out to KOH, King of the Hammers. Great week trip watching all the Off-Road racing!

Dirt and loose gravel tracks. Some rock climbing. Found one area with restroom for parking and camping.
