Ironmaster's Mansion

This place is really phenomenal. The big historic mansion has so many wrap around porches to look out on the forest. And the innkeeper Missy is a wonderful host, especially great to talk with. This place was really healing for my stay. Carlisle PA and Caladonia state forest were bordering the town as well and worth a visit

Stayed one night and it was a wonderful place. The beds were comfortable and I woke up refreshed! The mansion has a lot of interesting history and is located in a nice area to walk around. You'll pretty much just see nature but it's beautiful! If you're there in the right season there are raspberries growing by the side of the road. The couple that are running the hostel are very nice and friendly and know a lot about the history of the place. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and affordable place to stay and I would definitely go back! There are separate rooms for men and women and one room for couples with a pull out bed.

Plenty of rooms and bunks. It would take a lot of people to fill this place up. At least 3 different bathrooms with showers and very spacious decks on both floors. The caretaker was handling an impossible amount of work while still being helpful and kind. The mattress was very comfortable and I appreciated the fan in the bunk room. A solid stay for any hiker.

Missy was absolutely amazing!! This historic mansion was the perfect stop over after a muddy day of hiking. We easily did laundry and enjoyed meeting other hikers. Pine Furnace is a beautiful stop along the AT. Missy went above and beyond to provide superb hospitality. Thank you so much!!!!!!

Huge mansion. Three floors of dormitory style bunkrooms. We women had 16 bunks within the room we chose so just us two only occupying the one bunkroom. One man had whole floor to himself. Showers and bathrooms everywhere. Kitchen is huge for everyone to use. Plus Missy (onsite manager) cooks dinner and breakfast for guests ($35 for stay and both meals - $25 if just stay). All clean sheets, blankets, pillow cases and towels for shower provided to us guests. Laundry nice and only $3 per load. Very conveniently located along white blazed Appalachian Trail. General store next door to hostel for small food resupply. Here is the half gallon challenge for halfway point of thru-hikers. The store also makes grilled items and wraps breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Finally, one minute walk to museum, ca
