Iowa Cabin Rentals

I had been hired to plan a wedding for a couple in Iowa. It was a micro wedding of about 24 people, mostly kids. The bride and groom wanted to be able to keep all of their family in one spot. I had called all over the state trying to find something accommodating to what they were needing (I should note they also wanted a bounce house at their wedding for the kids) Iowa Cabin Rentals was happy to let us do whatever we needed. My bride and groom booked Black Bear and Sunset Lodge. The ceremony and reception were at Sunset Lodge and the family stayed here as well. Not going to lie, Sunset was a bit of a maze. Wexford cabin: This place is across the cemetery, not in the advertisement. And, not taken care of whatsoever. Very old, run down and not maintaned. The cabin was not properly cleaned..but they charge a cleaning fee, had an unpleasant odor, and we discovered a significant ladybug infestation throughout the space, including the beds, kitchen, dining room, all over the floors and bathroom. There were clusters of them in the corners. We had to sweep them off of the tables in the morning in order to eat. And, they were flying everywhere. Floors were dirty, showers were very much moldy like it had not been cleaned for ever, toilet was very dirty as well. Great experience!!!! Reserved cabin for a Saturday and Friday winter night for two couples, surrounding river towns are super cool. Cabin was more then sufficient for the weekend, The cabin was clean and very functional. very well maintained and the staff was super responsive! AAA++++ Definitely booking another stay!!!!

We had an amazing few days at the Creekside Cottage! We went up for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. The cabins are cozy and very clean! Wouldn’t mind going up during winter to snuggle up with a fire going! The 1st night a big storm came in and we lost our water heater and wouldn’t be fixed for a day or 2, this was no fault of the owners, Cory, the gentleman that manages the cabin we were staying in, offered 2 of his own cabins for us to shower in when they were not occupied. We will definitely make this an annual thing! Trout fishing was great also! There were so many places to fish! Thank you Cory for your professionalism! We truly appreciated it! We will be back to try other cabins!

Wexford Cabin: pictures are deceiving, 4 families stayed here and we were so upset. This place was INFESTED by ladybugs! We understand nature and bugs get into homes but this was a literal infestation. Every morning when we woke up we had to clean off the dead ladybugs off the dining table! They would fall off the light fixture that was hanging above it. We swept the patio because it was fill with ladybugs and had to sweep the doors because there was so many of them! There was a used bar of soap half gone in one of the bathtubs, cobwebs in places where there shouldn't be any, if the place is getting cleaned since they charge a “cleaning fee”! We were told we got a full propane tank, well that wasn't true we started making lunch and within 20 mins of cooking the food there was no more propa
