Inn At Monticello

Look- anyone looking to book a stay at a fancy, luxurious hotel is simply not going to book here so it is unfair to rate it with the assumption it will be anything close to that. It is not in the greatest area, it is not overly clean and the rooms aren’t anything to rave about. We booked our stay because we needed a place to sleep for the night. This was perfect. The beds were actually very comfortable. Our expectation was low and the price was great. It served the exact purpose we needed it for. So thank you to the staff. Be fair with your reviews folks.

Place felt like a homeless shelter. Kids didn't feel safe. Place was filthy. Was afraid to use the bathroom or even take our shoes off. We didn't dare sleep under the sheets because they were stains and hair all over the bed. Slept on top of the sheets because we were more afraid of what the bed would look like. Was the most uncomfortable 10 hours we've had in any place. The place was filthy and we had already been given a different room because the first room smelled like pot and had large stains all over the sheets. If we had a choice, we would have slept in our car instead.

I never even stayed here. I booked it, and immediately cancelled and the policy stated that the location would handle the refund 24 hours prior. I cancelled it an hour after booking, and they have yet to give me my refund. I’ve been waiting for more than a year. I emailed, called and still waiting.

Ya know, I'm not even going to leave a bad review. The lady working the desk (I forget her name) was quite nice. She could work at a Four Seasons or a Hilton and do very well, but that's not her lot in life. She is in charge of a once-decent motel which has been trashed by uncaring and uncivilized guests. Like the Whack-a-mole carnival game, maintaining decent rooms is a struggle when people are actively destroying them. If you cannot tell by this motel's location in Monticello—or its battered sign, the low price, or the crowd wandering the city streets—that this is not going to be a relaxing getaway, then bless your heart. This has got to be one of the worst motels I've ever been to. The bathroom floor was greasy. There was a pair of kid's underwear left on the shower curtain rod. The mattress is disgusting. When I pulled the sheets back to look for bedbugs, the mattress looked dirty and had holes and slits in it all over. The TV had no signal. There was no soap in the bathroom. I would have been better off sleeping in my Jeep. I can't believe they have the nerve to charge $120 for this outhouse. I will never book a room here again!
