Indian River Inlet Cottages

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing place to stay for a vacation, but didn’t want to empty our wallets in the process, and didn’t want to drive too far either. He was browsing through various places and stumbled upon this place. It was perfect!! We stayed a week. It was clean, fully furnished, comfortable, and quiet. The kitchen has everything I needed to prepare our meals. We enjoyed coffee on the screened porch. The fireplace came in handy on two nights of our stay since the temperatures went down to 42. The beds each have a comforter and pillow, but when I return, I will bring a pillow from home. I’m just used to my own pillow.||The view was breathtaking, and the sound of the water lapping up against the rocks lulled me into such a peaceful and relaxed state. ||We brought some

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cottage was beautiful and the views are amazing. The cottage sits right on the bay and is a close drive to the other delaware shore points. I can't wait to stay again.

While we weren’t sure what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised! The cottages aren’t just charming, they are also perfectly placed between the marina and the beach. We enjoyed driving out for dinner or walking to dine at the Dockside Restaurant, or driving to local stores for shopping or we could stay in and enjoy cooking in the cottage kitchen. We also enjoyed a visit to Cape Henlopen State Park (25 min drive North), Ocean City (further South) and Coin Beach (a short walk) which was relaxing and especially beautiful in the morning after sunrise. We will definitely be staying here again, especially now that we know what to bring with us next time. Linens (this we already knew), and some extra kitchen things, and we’ll be all set. Loved my stay in Cottage 12 with my pups! The daily raising and lowering of the flags from the Coast Guard station next store, complete with bugle calls, gives you that local color charm. We had a girls weekend away. Thinks crafts, wine, laughs. The beach and marina are nearby and watching the fishing in the out front honey hole will make any fisher person drool. I want to come back in the winter. Watch the prickly pear with your pups. It ain’t easy. And ticks if you take a nature walk in warm weather.

This is my 5th year staying at the cottages. I love the setting and the cottage layout is good. Every year I complain about the living room furniture and once again I will…extremely uncomfortable.
