Hyatt Place Santa Barbara

It felt like a charming, small-scale boutique hotel. The exterior beautifully reflected the architectural style influenced by the Spanish colonial heritage of the Santa Barbara area. The interior design throughout the hotel was also lovely, creating a relaxing, resort-like atmosphere. The room we stayed in was about 500 sq. ft.—cozy, clean, and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast buffet was neat and delicious. Parking was spacious, and it was convenient that we could access our room directly from the parking area through connecting walkways on each floor without having to go through the lobby—especially great for families with kids, as it minimized walking distance. Would we stay here again? Yes, but did not like the $10/night parking surcharge.||Rooms - clean and everything was maintained, walk-in shower with refrigerator. Hotel's ice maker could make larger ice cubes instead of the snow flakes.||Food - much better than average breakfast with lot of choices, a bar for the evening and nice seating area.

Positive: "" Negative: No hot water. Had to run the water for over five minutes for a brief moment of lukewarm water, then it was back to cold. There is only two parking places in front of hotel. All other parking is in the back garage.

Beware — they may charge you incorrectly. When I checked out, I noticed a charge for beverages that I did not purchase. I immediately asked the front desk to remove it, and they told me the charge had been posted by a manager and that they would contact him to correct it. I was told the issue was resolved. However, when I reviewed my credit card statement a month later, the charge was still there. I called the hotel again, and this time they said it was “too long ago,” that the manager would not remember, and that they did not want to contact him to investigate. In addition, there were ants in the first-floor rooms. Overall, this experience was very disappointing. Please check your bill carefully and be cautious if staying on the first floor.

We had a good stay this weekend. We enjoyed the location as it was kind of at the center of everything but you still had to drive to get anywhere. The rooms were not so great. You can hear everything in the hallway. The doors don't block much noise so if you hear kids or people working you can hear everything. And that works in both directions because as I walk by rooms I can hear people's conversations so nothings really private. I like the ambiance of the place but what clouds it is the lack of sound proofing or deadening. The rooms are all laminate flooring so everything echoes. Parking is pretty tight too. Trying to get in and out of the parking garage is a very tight I mean it is a very tight squeeze. I'm not sure if they even need that little thing in the middle (boom barriers/boo
