Hyatt Place Blacksburg/University

Excellent location for visiting VA Tech. Room and bathroom were clean and quiet. The bedding and shower supplies were also very nice. My husband and I found the beds too hard but my college students were comfortable, so maybe old bones were the issue. The breakfast was very nice with hot and cold options, fruit, and pastries.

Even though it was a slight deviation from our path off the main highway we booked and then rebooked here because we had such a great experience. Our rooms were immaculately clean! My kids enjoyed the pool. All the staff were very welcoming. At breakfast the staff worked tirelessly to keep the area clean and the food restocked. My one small negative was having no microwave in our room, however I did notice there was one downstairs in the breakfast area. This was our best hyatt experience so far!

Fantastic place ! An amazing piece of civilization amid the mountains and sunny vallies. Staff helpful and polite. Our room was spacious enough for a family of 5, and had everything you would need. The breakfast was beyond expectations: freshly made omelette, baked potatoes and sausages served in French cast iron pots. Plenty of fresh fruit and berries. Organic teas and decent coffee. This hotel is a gem. Owners, please keep it this way!!

Positive: Front desk staff was excellent. Negative: The breakfast hours should go up until 10 o’clock and coffee Should be out all day.

We had a fantastic experience during the off-season when room rates were low. The hotel was clean, the pool was warm, and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Another great Hyatt stay but with staff who make you feel at home.
