The Howzit Hostel on Maui is probably the best hostel in whole Hawaii! They offer lots of great tours for very affordable prices and events like fun karaoke evenings. For the Superbowl the hostel even ordered free pizza and drinks for everyone. The only little thing is that there aren't any lockers, but it was absolutely no problem to store any important bags at the reception. Everyone is just super friendly and helpful and the community there is so great and so it's super easy to make friends and find travel buddies. Especially big Thanks to Rita, Daimy and Dani - you guys were doing an amazing job!!

I stayed here for 3 nights last month. It was my first solo trip in a hostel, and first time to Hawaii. When I first arrived, Lucie was working the front desk, I think she could tell how anxious I was and immediately made me feel comfortable. Told me all the information about events, patio hours, check out times etc. Then proceeded to show me to my room, even offered to carry my bags. The hostel itself is quite cool, they have really funky nice decor in the common areas, the patio was really nice, especially the corner seat, because you could look up at the mountains from there. As for cleanliness, they kept it sparkling clean all the time, legit seemed like nobody is even in the space, it stayed clean. The staff was really friendly and genuine. Its a good vibe of the travelers as well

Overall great stay at this hostel! It’s extremely social and easy to make friends. Rooms are very basic but had clean and comfortable beds. My room did not have lockers or curtains, so just be aware of that. Bathrooms were relatively clean most of the time. Location isn’t great, but there are some cute shops around. The bus is easy to navigate and ride share isn’t too expensive if sharing with others. Definitely do as many tours as you can get on - shoutout tour guides Xavier and Luke! Would definitely reccomend if looking for a budget spot in Maui.

The best most social hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The community here is amazing. As a solo traveler, I felt welcomed right out the gate and easily met friends. The hostel host cool group trips it seems like everyday and margarita/karaoke night was a hit. Thank you to Dani and the team for being such great servant leaders and creating a fun social clean environment.
