What a wonderful experience!! My son and I went tent camping here and were made to feel SO welcome. The owner was SO kind and friendly, even loaning us - total strangers - his personal kayak so that my son could try it out. Wouldn’t even let me rent it from him!! Such a stunning location, with pristine views that had us completely relaxed and one with nature. They even apologized to me for the “noise” - this is literally the quietest campground I’ve ever been to! I am positive we’ll be back!! Thank you kindly Howell’s, you gave us wonderful memories.
We were here last month but unfortunately couldn’t stay due to their WiFi being down from the storm a night before & my wifi on the roof wasn’t getting good signal from being in the valley. My co-pilot (my service dog) & I work from my RV so we can travel but some type of WiFi is needed. We took 3wks & started in NJ going north spending 3-5 days in each state. I found this campground w/ very reasonable rates & full hookup if that’s what u need. It’s seems to be a quiet place without tons of children running around screaming. It’s family run & they are super friendly & very helpful. I paid for 3 nights before knowing their WiFi was down & mine not working due to being in the valley. She completely understood & refunded my money without no issues. I was kinda disappointed I couldn’t stay due
Awesome campground perfect if you like peace and quiet. Owner was super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. I went to fish the streams local to that area and he was able to put me on fish. The Battenkill is a 300 yard walk from the campground. Great place to stay for a fishing trip! Also rates were very reasonable.
It’s funny how many people liked this place, we visited and the pile of junk you see on arrival sets the tone for the park. Honestly the roads are in poor condition and I am glad to have left my camper home. When folks describe rustic they are being nice
This campsite is a hidden gem in the middle of the green mountain forest area. It was recommended to us by the campground up the street as we needed a larger campsite for 3 tents and didn’t want to spend hotel room prices for camping! We paid $22 for a water and electric campsite! We got the site overlooking the lake with gorgeous view of the trees! There was also a Mountain View right there adjacent to the lake. People were so friendly and helped us light our campfire. Very quiet, peaceful ,serene place. No facilities other than the bathrooms and showers. ( a bit dirty) but overall camping experience was great!
