Howard Johnson by Wyndham Williams

Recommended by a local when stopping for dinner just down the road. Immaculately clean, very welcoming staff, comfortable bed, HVAC was quiet, nice size pool was at a comfortable temperature, well lit secure parking, reasonable rate. Just an hour from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.||Breakfast lacked typical chafer items such as bacon, eggs, sausage (which are often too cold and/or greasy anyway in most motels), and the pillows were too lofty for my tastes, but still 5 stars overall.

Room was modern/updated and clean, and it was a decent price. Staff were nice. Location is within walking distance of Grand Canyon Railway (Polar Express). Would definitely stay here again as home base for future visits to the Grand Canyon and nearby attractions. My only comment is that the mini-fridge in the room didn't have a freezer section, which would be great for refreezing ice packs for an ice chest/cooler. There are ice machines though signs are posted not to use them to fill ice chests.

We had an incredibly satisfying stay at this hotel for the price we paid! From the moment we checked in, everything was perfect. The room was spotless, the ambiance was great, and the internet, room phone, bedding, toiletries, and more were all top-notch. The room was spacious and had a nice window that let in plenty of sunlight. The continental breakfast was amazing! There was a wide variety of options, including coffee, juices, cupcakes, donuts, bread, cereals, milk, waffles, fruits, and more. The staff was incredibly helpful and ensured that the food was always restocked, the counters and tables were cleaned, and the dustbins were emptied regularly. The hotel also had a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, which was a great way for the kids to have some fun. The owner was extremely helpful

Positive: Super easy check in, great location and very clean. Negative: I think the only negative thing I would say about this hotel is the carpet. It really needs a deep cleaning or replaced. Other than that I loved it and the room was super clean everywhere else besides the carpet.

We recently stayed two nights at Howard Johnson by Wyndham Williams, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The owners, Henry and his wife, were truly outstanding hosts. They were welcoming, kind, and genuinely cared about their guests, which immediately set the tone for our stay. It is clear they take pride in their property and in providing a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. We also want to specifically mention Veronica, one of the night clerks. She was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional, and made us feel well taken care of during the evening hours.
