Howard Johnson by Wyndham Saugerties

I looked this place up online and saw that it was right off the highway and had good prices so I decided to stay for 1 night during a bad snow storm. When I went to check-in I found out that the price was much higher than what was listed online. I was charged over $300 for the night. I have never payed the much for a hotel in my life let alone a hotel of such low quality. If I thought I could have driven down the road to another I would have. The entire place smelled musty and damp and everything was out dated. We passed dirty bedding on a couch and a used condom on the rug in the main hall on the way to our room. It's really in need of serious updating. There was black mold in the bathtub and kind of grimy. But the beds were comfortable and clean, the heating works great, and the hot water is pretty damn good. It's a good place to stay if you need a place to crash from working very late in the area. The price is reasonable, and the front desk staff is pretty chill. If it were a little bit cleaner it would be fantastic. But I would probably give it four stars just because of the location and the comfort.

I don’t normally write reviews, but this hotel needs some major improvements. I was there for a one night stay because I was attending a wedding nearby, and for the price, I immediately regretted it. We booked the room, to have a place to sleep at the end of the night, but after seeing a bug that resembled a bed bug crawling on my pillow, I did not get any sleep. I stayed up all night itching and feeling like I had bugs crawling on me.  I thought it was paranoia. But, upon returning home, I had bites that started to itch and swell up on my forehead, legs and back. The room was not clean, and could use updating. There were obvious signs of mildew and water damage in the bathroom, stains on the walls, sheets and decorative bedding. If you appreciate a clean space, this is not it. Check-in an

This is by far the worst motel/hotel I’ve stayed in either overseas or in the U.S.! My wife and I attended her good friend’s wedding last night in Saugerties. We checked in just after 3PM. Our room had a musty smell and also smelled like it had previously been a smoking room. We noticed old gum behind the room door, dust everywhere, a beat up office chair with scratches, stains on the paint and on curtains, and hairdryer that was missing many pieces. The toilet bowl was also loose.||We quickly made the decision to get dressed for the wedding and check out of this motel. We only live about little over an hour away so we decided to come home after the wedding. We took pictures. I will be contacting Expedia about a refund and I will be contacting the national headquarters for Howard Johnson.

This place is a regular hotel that I got for a decent price. The room was relatively small and multiple spots that were evidently dirty. Just one of which was a used soap bar in a dirty spot in the bath tub. Location is good if you're just trying to get off the highway or access the ski hills
