Houser's Hotel

The owner is a crooked thief and will steal your money!!! I booked a room for $277 and then cancelled. That cancellation was discussed on the phone with staff because the hotel is above a loud bar and we had a newborn, and we were assured it would be refunded (despite a general no refund policy). The money was never credited back to my account and when pressed they lied to me saying that money did go to the cc company when they confirmed it didn't. And still after hours of dealing with this the owner never owned up and refunded me - in fact they never answered a single email or called me back. There's a reason this place has so many 1 star reviews - because it's an awful place, stay away

I wanted to leave a review because of all of the negative reviews. They don't pick up their phones because they're mainly a bar and there's typically 1 or 2 staff who are working the hotel but sometimes the bar becomes understaffed and there is no one to answer the phones, so maybe contact housers bar and ask for hotel staff if you need to get in contact with someone. Our room was clean and the views of the bay was gorgeous. We have stayed in most of the fire island hotels and have to say this one was our favorite. We were able to check in super early and check out super late. Staff let us keep our bags there for the day after checking out as well. The downsides are that there is no TV and showers are outside of the room, but in my opinion the view made up for all of that. The AC drowned o

Rishab and Namrata are the managers from the location I stayed. They verbally abused me and challenged me when I followed up to get my money back.||Rishab challenged me to take the money back if I have guts. This is how they are robbing people. ||I am going to file a police complaint. They never refund your security money. ||Bunch of low lives. STAY AWAY from HOUSER

It is what it is because of the location and lack of affordable options, but compared to any other place I've ever slept, it's easily the worst. It stunk of sewage, the whole place is all old carpet. Rooms microscopic with zero amenities. Keys open any door. Gets the job done though and I didn't return home with bed bugs or anything... Tldr; If you're young, without kids, and drunk, it's fine. All others should probably take the last ferry back.

The room is minimalist and you share a bathroom (with key for hotel residents only). But there was never a problem within the hotel with anything. Our room, albeit small was very clean and comfortable and had a sink, a little furniture and a closet (no TV). We had no issues with noise -- other than the noise outside in the street, which can't be helped or blamed on the hotel. The location here is also very convenient. In Fire island, whether you have a share in a group house or stay in local lodging, the idea is not to be indoors, but on the beach. The price was very reasonable for Fire Island. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. In particular, the concierge/front desk staff person, Roxana, was terrific. She helped us get settled in and offered to help us with anything. In addit
