Hotel Virginia Santa Barbara, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

This is a Christmas gift my wife and I give to each other every year for the last 4 years. I can't give a better review but I will try to be brief. Location, absolutely incredible. 20 feet from the heart of State Street and all the stores, restaurants and stores. Grounds are pretty simple there is no pool and no jacuzzi, but that's okay. The hotel itself is magnificent. The rooms aren't big, but they are a magnificent as well. The carpets are incredibly clean everything is updated, the bathrooms are neat and clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The valet is extremely efficient. We spent two nights in a king bedroom and a room only basis.||The good news is that the location of the hotel is excellent just off State Street but far enough not to be bothered by any noise. |We were greeted warmly and told that our room was not ready yet. It was lonely 12pm so we understood this. They were happy to store our packs and said they would text us when the room was available but this never happened. On arriving back after 5pm the first room we were given was on the ground floor but as it did not contain a wardrobe or a safe I asked Reception if they had an alternative room which had both and to be fair they did this without question. Positive: The Staff were really friendly and the guys working the Valet parking, were outstanding. The Hotel Location was great. It was close to all our destinations. We also loved the area near the Hotel. Negative: We wish the room were a little bigger.

Our stay was perfect! The room was spotless and beautiful. The staff was incredible! So friendly and helpful! We loved riding bikes around town and the location can’t be beat! They even helped store our luggage on checkout day ensuring we could enjoy Santa Barbara until our final hour! I was super impressed and would definitely return for a future stay!

Is this hotel worth $400 per night. Absolutely not!!! We booked for 2 nights which included Valentine's night. Well we left after the 1st night. Rooms smell, the mattress is awful. We were room 207. The parking tower light faced our room. We couldn't sleep all night. The location is great. The staff is great. A boutique hotel. Are you kidding me. We politely told them we had a family emergency and had to leave. Asked for refund and we're told we will get $46. We canceled our Valentine's dinner and drove back to carmel by the sea. Come to carmel and you see the difinition of boutique hotel. God bless
