Hotel Saddleback

Had a great night's sleep. I'd seen this hotel a thousand times since my childhood when watching National Lampoon's Vacation. I needed to stay here (and swim in the iconic pool) no matter what the conditions of the hotel turned out to be, but the hotel turned out perfectly fine! It was clean and quiet and felt safe.

Room looks completely outdated with old TVs that only have like 4 Chanels and super static on them. The pool and jacuzzi had were also dirty. But hey they filmed a movie there.

Positive: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Negative: The rooms were very outdated. The beds were very uncomfortable. The carpet was extremely dirty and we couldn?t walk on it barefoot. Both the hot in and laundry were out of order despite being told they were up and running.

This place is dirty! We had to be changed from our first room due to the TV being completely broken ….. We were changed to a 2 nd floor room while i’m 8 months pregnant for a 2 week stay. Inside the room the carpet is as dirty as the pavement outside. You need slippers. There are roaches everywhere including inside the rooms. There are no fridges nor microwave. Completely misleading don’t waste your money here

The Saddleback is a sprawling property with multiple buildings and swimming pools. Prices are low, and basically, your expectations should be, as well. The mattresses are the worst. They are more like a box spring than a mattress. The room was fine. Cleanish, but I don't believe this location has ever done any kind of renovation since opening day, so things were as clean as they could possibly be. The air conditioner unit didn't work so had to transfer to a different room (but had to go to the office, located at the front of the property-the room was in the building furthest away). Thankfully, was able to transfer to a room in the same building on the same floor. However, the front desk attendant wrote the incorrect room number on the key sleeve which was pretty annoying.
