Customer Reviews
The Planter is a charming old hotel. It is not updated with the amenities many expect in new hotels, but that is, in part, the charm of the place. From the amazing staircase and the gorgeous antiques in the common area--furniture, stained glass lamps--to the amazing old beds and dressers and bureaus in the two different rooms I stayed in. It's like stepping back 100 years in time.||Across the street is a nice cafe and within walking distance you have quite a selection of restaurants in this lovely little town. How do they have so many places to eat?||And the little shops and museums in La Conner are worth exploring as well.||I'm glad to have found this place--I need to do work in the area in the coming couple of years and will always stay at the Hotel Planter.
Great vibes from start to finish. Loved the feel of the historic building, room was perfect and comfortable. No issues and would recommend and also stay again.
Small hotel in a quaint little town. No elevator, but the staff is very helpful. Nice courtyard for relaxing in the evening. No air conditioning, but there were ceiling fans. We had one window open and the street was very quiet in the evening.
We stayed at The Hotel Planter, a restored historic hotel, for two nights in the middle of April – peak Tulip Festival time. It is at one end of the charming main street in La Connor. The waterfront is right behind the shops and restaurants across the street. There are restaurants, galleries and a nice mix of shops along the street. Two excellent museums are within walking distance. Street parking is free and unlimited in terms of time, but finding an open space can be difficult during the day. After 5 PM there were always lots of spaces available. There are excellent restaurants in the blocks close to the hotel.| |Regarding our stay, the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Bottled water was provided at no charge. Our room had no reading lamp and the lighting was dim. We asked
Loved the location of this classic hotel, right in the historic heart of La Conner, WA. Bed was super comfortable, and much was as advertised. Unfortunately, a couple of items were not so great. One was the plumbing. Our shower had a perpetual drip. Didn't matter how hard you turned the faucet off, the drip continued. More significantly, the website is big about the private hotel courtyard, and there was even a sign noting the courtyard was for hotel guests only, as is implied on the website. But the lower level of the hotel has a sweet shoppe that also makes pizza and other foods, which appears to also be operated by the hotel, and people off the street buying food were regularly encouraged into the hotel courtyard to eat and hang out. So there was no real "private" to the courtyard. The
