Hotel Francis

The hotel is a throwback to the motor inns of the 1960s. It feels like it was dipped in amber and transported to 2025. We were told that new owners recently bought the hotel, and rooms are being renovated. Still, it is a budget hotel for those willing to put up with what they pay for. The staff was great - responsive, courteous. They were obviously doing the best they could with what they had.

Positive: The location Negative: Unfriendly staff. Room that they tried to put us in wasn’t clean the linen from the previous guest was piled on top of the beds. So with an attitude they switched us to another room where the hot water to the shower wasn’t working

What a horrendous place to stay, dead roaches EVERYWHERE and I'm quite sure there were live ones too since after awhile we started to see what looked like roach poop. The drawers in the dresser had dead roaches and the smell was unimaginable when you opened them, I literally dry heaved. The TV was an absolute joke, you couldn't hardly make anything out through the static. Some of the lights didn't work and the door had to be manhandled to open, it would only open if you turned the handle up and really yanked on it, God forbid if there was a fire! Plus the bathroom door handle was broken both my wife and I got locked in the bathroom (at separate times) and had to get someone to help on the other side. My mother in law paid $260 for 2 nights and it was really our only option due to the rodeo

4/5 Pleasing We stayed in Oct2025. The Hotel Francis is a old motel with relatively new owners. You can tell they are slowly sprucing up the rooms, common areas, exterior, and parking area. It has a ways to go, but the management was very responsive. The rooms have new TVs, beds, AC units, etc, but our room did not have renovations of the bathroom, vanity, entrance, etc. You know you are in a old motel. The pool looked well kept and a families were swimming with their kids. They've made sure everything works, and I felt completely safe there. The breakfast is a modest self-serve: coffee, OJ, toast, cereal, etc. Based on my conversation with the friendly staff, the owners have great plans. In the meantime I'd stay again if I wanted to rest my head.

I booked through booking.com.When I showed up on my reservation date I was told they had my reservation for 2 days prior and marked me as a no show. I showed them all the confirmation information from booking.com that showed the correct date of 12/5/25 but was told there was nothing they could do and take it up with booking.com. I needed a room for that night so I had no choice but to pay again for a room at that moment. I get to the room and when I went to go back out to my car to get my stuff the door handle came off. I was stuck in the room for a bit while I figured out how to get it back on and to work again. Door handle came off anytime you tried to exit the room. It was horrible. I submitted a support ticket with booking.com to get a refund for the reservation I didn't get to use and
