Hotel Alex Johnson Rapid City, Curio Collection by Hilton

Went here for work across the state in search of a unique historical spot. The reason I chose this spot was the convenience of the restaurants inside the building. I love being able to stay in the same building and have dinner until 10pm, alcohol until midnight, and coffee as early as 6am. The valet was nice on Sunday morning, as the street parking was no longer free by 7am. Other than that, this building is very unique and beautiful. My bathroom was beautiful with a sweet old fashioned spouted sink. They had some nice touches on how they folded the towels. The rooftop bar is genuinely a sight to behold, and they have fire to keep you warm outside. The hotel Alex Johnson is a fantastic experience. From the rooftop bar that you get Secret Service practically and beautiful views of the gateway to the beautiful Black Hills and then the bar downstairs is amazing. The fantastic professional service and excellent people of all kinds. Just be nice 😊 Go there go there go there!

I so loved staying at this very historic hotel! I grew up in Rapid City and it brought back such special memories. My personal thanks to Laura and Dan at the front desk for helping me with check in and check out processes, especially with my emotional support and blind pet. Added my Hilton reward points too. ❤️

Update: Well, i may have wrote my original review too soon.(as well as sending an electronic tip prematurely) Actually ended up having to call multiple times to confirm shipping of said left item, never to get back in touch with Patrick. Ed took over and he was great to speak to, very reassuring, and finally came thru at a pak and mail (which I've never heard of) to confirm shipment. Well tho I received my item, anything of value that was left inside (and also confirmed beforehand) was missing. After all the energy put into this ordeal, I am very disappointed. I know I'm the fool to think anything would be returned but I also think maybe this could have been handled a put more carefully. Thanks anyway Alex Johnson.
