Horsethief Gulch Campground

Beautiful park ended in the mountains. Sites are laid out nicely for some privacy just maybe a little short length wise. Scenic area!. Nice that each campsite has a covered picnic table. Electric but no water or sewer. Dump station just outside park down the road. Water spigots thru out park. Two bath houses with showers. The newer one had rain showerheads - Amazing! Site 34. Took a bit to get level. Very nicely kept. Staff does a great job keeping tidy! Stunning views on the drive to it. Lots of interesting historic sites to see around the camp.

What an amazing campground! Location is spectacular but the sites themselves are awesome. Level sites with gravel and multiple tents pads - covered picnic tables - fire pits. Clean restroom and shower facilities. Definitely a top 5 campground and priced at only $15. They have a new credit card system that is very convenient. Water stations and a very nice dump site located just outside the campground. Access to the lake was excellent - definitely walkable.

This is one of the cleanest and nicest campgrounds in rural Nevada. The lower sites have 30\50 amp electric service and there’s potable water spigots strategically located amongst the sites. Just a skip down the road is a two station RV dump with flushing water and potable water. If you’re not into great trout fishing, sightseeing, hiking, stargazing or camping, you can always come out and see the old school pay phone that’s free for local calls! Theres a park ranger cabin roughly 2 miles down the road. The ranger doesn’t spend too much time there as we frequently saw him tending to all the various things in the park. The guy puts in the time, is highly visible and it shows. If you find yourself heading toward Pioche, give yourself a couple extra days to come to Horsethief Gulch Campgro

What a hidden gem. This campground is about 3.5 hours north of Vegas. It’s small, but well spaced sites with some having electric. It was quiet and with no light pollution, the night sky was gorgeous. A really nice place to relax and escape the city. Two different prices per night depending on what state your plates are from. Not really sure where military families fall living in NV with out of state plates. Never saw a ranger while we were here.

We enjoyed our stayed at HORSETHIEF GULCH CAMPGROUND, in Nevada Spring Valley State Park for eight days in campsites 22 & 23 spanning Memorial Day 2018. There were five of us in two motorhomes. Spring Valley is a very beautiful and remote area.. no cell service within several miles. The small reservoir lake offered good fishing. Cindy and my two granddaughters caught 20 trout over the days we were there. Most were caught from the end of the boat dock. We enjoyed our two campsites especially since they were at the very back end of the campground affording us more privacy. Some of the campsites were level and some were not. Site 22 was a bit sloped whereas our site 23 was a long level drive. The entire campground roads were gravel/dirt. Our campsites had nice covered picnic tables as well
