This place was wonderful! You cannot beat the view, location, beach proximity, shopping proximity, service, or rooms. One of the best places we have ever stayed on an extended basis. The architecture itself is cool and very pleasing. The room was ridiculously spacious, and very well appointed - with everything you need for an extended stay. Full kitchen, laundry in the room - very comfortable. Fully stocked on dishes and cookware. The pools were all nice, well-maintained and enjoyable. Non-smoking throughout - even on the balconies. Is everything brand-spanking-new? No. Did that bother us in the least? No. We had an awesome time. I credit mostly the facility itself, the staff, and the time of year. Off-season was really pleasant, and the water (ocean - the pools are heated) was warm enough
Pros:|My stay at Horizon at 77th - Unit 206 was overall pleasant. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, dishes, and pots and pans—everything needed to cook a meal. The balcony was also roomy and offered a decent view. While the greenery has grown more than shown in the pictures, slightly limiting the view, it was still enjoyable. The bathrooms were nicely updated with plenty of space. We forgot a fan for my son to sleep with at night but there are fans provided in both rooms which was very nice as bedtime can be a challenge. |Cons:|The beds were uncomfortably firm, making it difficult for me to get restful sleep. I know it is hard to please everyone when it comes to beds, but these beds hurt me. Another issue was the refrigerator—I found
The place is very nice. We have a timeshare and stayed for a week. It was a little cool (mid-September) when we went so the pools and the ocean weren't quite as attractive as they could have been. I did get in the pools, the lazy river and the ocean - but not for long. We could see the ocean from our balcony. We like having a full kitchen which was nice. When staying a week it helps save a little on meals. The beach was not too far away. There really is nothing nearby within walking distance that is special. There are a few restaurants and grocery stores within about a mile. That is the main critique for me. Since Myrtle Beach is relatively close for us, we have gone there 4 times for a week - once at this resort. To be honest, this trip was a bit more boring than usual since we were so
The room was alright, but was wanting a two bedroom room with doors for privacy, yet I was provided with a one bedroom, with a pullout sofa bed, which I didn't want. This hotel should add and build a hotel top restaurant that will provide a free breakfast buffet for customer staying in the hotel. It should also provide free hot coco, tea packets, coffee, and warm homemade chocolate chip cookies throughout the entire day and at night, until 10 pm. Other than that, the ladies at the front service desk were very nice. Also, during our stay at Horizon 77th, there were some hard head kids, and disrespectful adults on our floor, that kept opening there room door, and letting it slam shut during thr early morning and late at night. I even went to the lady with thr kids, that same morning, and
Booked a handicap accessible room 9 months prior to arrival date. Confirmed a week before that is what was booked and was asked for a preference of floor as there were not many of those. Arrived and nothing was said at check in. Get to the room and notice there are no grab bars in either bathroom and the walk in master shower was slick. My 87 year old mother said she couldn’t turn the tub faucet so I went in to check. Well the handle was loose but it was also extremely hard to turn. Maintenance came up and literally said “The handle won’t fall off and it’s just tight to turn and said there was nothing they could do. Then joked and said I would have to turn it on and off for her” I went down to the office and inquired about our room and was told it was not handicap accessible! This i
