Homewood Suites by Hilton Wallingford-Meriden

This hotel is conveniently located to the airport, has pleasant staff, and has a great breakfast offering. Unfortunately in my experience, it also has hallways that reek of weed, room doors that allow significant light leakage from the hallway, faulty toilets that will endlessly flush unless you hold the handle just right, small curly hairs on the bedsheets, and some sort of chemical product used on the pillowcases that smells 10 times as chemically-y as a cheap amazon product might. I would not recommend this hotel to any travelers at this point as it is deeply in need of a refresh to bring it in line with other Hilton Homewood Suited offerings.

Visited earlier this month and LOVED the experience this hotel provided. The Operation Manager, Gazmend Zeqiri who assisted us at check-in could not have been any more kind and helpful. We instantly felt warm and welcomed after an entire day's driving from NYC in the cold weather and heavy traffic. He was super helpful in suggesting restaurants for dinner, (as we were just too tired to try and figure it out :). Once we entered our room, we were so impressed with its clenliness, comfort and welcoming feel. Breakfast the next morning was good - the typical "free breakfast" option that comes with most of these types of hotels. The hotel is centrally located in the area and we'll definitely be back during our next visit to Wallingford.

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel. My wife and I were visiting the Durham fair last weekend to see STYX and we needed a place to stay for the weekend. It was a little pricey but it was worth it. It was only 10 minutes to the fair so t was convenient to say the least. The staff was very pleasant but the Breakfast is the reason I am giving five stars. For once everything at a hotel breakfast was fresh including the scrambled eggs which were creamy and moist. Countless times when I am staying at hotels the eggs are dry but not here. My only suggestion is to move the hot foods to another counter away from the waffle stations because how it is set up when we were there bottlenecked every one in a corner, easy fix. Overall if we are ever in that area again I would not hesitate to stay h

Check in was easy, but breakfast was taken away too soon on the first morning. I had to ask for several things that were not out, like cream cheese, eggs, sausage, silverware and the waffle maker and batter were missing. It wasn't even 9:00 yet. One of the kitchen workers (a female) was walking around the dining area cleaning tables, etc. while listening to music that was loud enough for the guests to hear. We don't care if you listen to music, but have some common sense and keep it to yourself. The guests don't need to be part of your music festival. Just inexcusable. Then when we needed to check out at 7 am on our last day, there was no one at the front desk. We walked around saying "Hello", but nothing.
