Holiday Lodge

The 70s called and wants its decor back. When we entered the “lobby” the first thing we noticed was the old furniture and cloudy fish tank. Next, we were assaulted by the smell of cigarette smoke. We had to pick up a telephone to summon a desk clerk (a clanging bell sounded throughout the first floor for almost a minute before anyone responded, at 7:15 pm so not late). The check in went ok. We had reserved a room with a king bed and for some reason were given a handicap room. The 70s decor continued. The bedding was clean but well worn. The lobby, hallways and room looked as though they hadn’t seen fresh paint in decades and the moldings and door frames were marked and marred. Thankfully, things were clean overall and the room didn’t smell of smoke even though there was a significant gap

Upon entering the room it was extremely hot. No a/c was on. The sheets had yellow stains, hard dried substance ,and cigarette burns on them. The pillows were extremely flat. Half the lights in the room didn’t work. There was a working fridge on top of a non-working fridge. There were dead cockroaches on the floor. We left within thirty minutes of being there. Attempting to get my refund back. The front desk clerk was pleasant.

Positive: Nothing Negative: Everything, it was Awful, Hard bed, no clock or place to charge my phone, and Room just looked bad, not worth any more than --- dollars a night at the most

Cons: This hotel is in severe disrepair. The floors throughout the common areas and hallways are rotten, so you sink into the floor as you walk down the hallway. If you aren't steady on your feet then you could easily trip or fall. We had 2 rooms and the floors inside the rooms looked newer but didn't look professionally done because there were gaps in the flooring and the floors were uneven. The AC unit in both rooms sounded like they were going to break at any moment. There were brown stains in the tubs. The hotel smells like a mix of an ashtray and an aquarium. Even for a cheap nightly rate this hotel is not worth the money. Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful for whatever we needed. The location is convenient to a couple fast food locations and it's right off the interstate.

It seems as though the review system is only given by those who have a bad experience. Out of the hundreds that stay in the hotel the handful give a review which is bad. The hotel is overall great. I feel that this hotel deserves better ratings because the reviews are somewhat skewed to represent the bad experiences. I have had a great experience everytime I visit this hotel during Masters Week. The front desk clerk in the morning is extremely helpful. She makes sure your experience is well worth the money you pay. I feel that many who give this place a bad review try to get their money back. However, its a great hotel for its price. The deluxe bedding is very reminiscent of a 4 star bedding. If you want the best experience, try to make it as smooth as possible. If your reservation is very
