Holiday Inn & Suites Duluth-Downtown by IHG

I've stayed here the past three years while at a conference, and this definitely functions as a hotel. There are indoor rooms with beds and bathrooms, and the doors lock. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. You can walk indoors all the way to the DECC via heated Skywalks, so that's also neat. Also, many thanks to the hotel for connecting the conference staff with hockey tickets and access to their suite; I was able to tag along and that was a real treat! If only UMD had won... Not a detractor, but information: no breakfast included, and The Lyric (their attached restaurant) is closed on Mondays (in which case, I recommend a short walk to Duluth's Best Bread.

The hotel is located downtown in Duluth so you will have to utilize their parking garage. The front desk will give you a pass to exit and enter at will but we had trouble with it working when trying to leave a few times. The staff was friendly and accommodating when we needed extra towels, blankets, etc. ||The room itself was fairly clean and comfortable. There are no microwaves but they do come with both a TV & fridge. The bathroom was clean and the hot water worked well. If you get a room that attached to the pool room, be advised that the pool room is kept at 90+ degrees for some reason... There is a little arcade downstairs with some games in it.||The bar & restaurant downstairs was nice but the skywalk was closed the entire time so we could not explore that at all. Positive: The beds were nice. Negative: There were a number of maintenance issues throughout the hotel that had not been addressed. The elavator for the parking ramp was out of order. The main pool area was a sauna. The hot tub was out of order.

This will be my go to hotel when we stay In duluth such a great hotel with a luxury restaurant downstairs. the food coming out of that kitchen was amazing complements to the chef and his staff. Our waitress was amazing she made our dining experience very pleasant. The beds were a plus as well very comfortable. The room was clean and tidy. Can't wait to get back.
