Holiday Inn Oceanside Camp Pendleton Area by IHG

The hotel is dated but clean. The carpet in our room had a hole in it. The breakfasts were good but pricey. Jessica in restaurant area was outstanding! On Thanksgiving day there was no hot water so we couldn’t shower before going to our relative’s for the day. Location was easy to get to and parking was good. When checking out I asked for some compensation regarding lack of hot water on Thanksgiving. I was only offered breakfast vouchers, which we couldn’t use as we had to get on the road. They should have offered them Thanksgiving morning to people inconvenienced.

Was staying here for work on base. After checking out was advised by accounting the hotel over charged my Government credit card. When hotels are booked through the government they are to be tax free. Called to get issue resolved but front desk said I had to fill out a form upon check in but I was unaware this was necessary. Now I’m out $400.

The pictures online definitely oversell this property. The stay wasn't bad, but don't expect a nice or somewhat luxury hotel. We stayed in a Jr King suite for 8 days/7 nights while visiting family. The layout of the room is a bit awkward. The bathroom was adequate but not great, water pressure was terrible but at least the water was hot. The room was clean. No complimentary breakfast, and it's pricey. You'll be spending $15-$20 for 2 eggs and bacon. The staff is the one thing I rate as excellent. They were amazing in every aspect. Had it not been for the staff, I'd probably never stay there again and give it worse reviews. The "gym" had a non working treadmill, an elliptical, one bench with a weight tree from 10-55lbs and a non working tv. We didn't use the pool so can't rate th

Needed 2 rooms for one night. Ten minute walk to the Harbour where we plundered Jack's Crab Shack which made the best Margaritas I have ever had. Introduced Crab to Daughter who learned how to use nut Crackers and covered herself in sauce. She had never eaten Crab in Shell prior to this and won't again as she broke a fingernail and hurt her Thumb. This has nothing to do with the Holiday Inn BTW. The Rooms were clean if somewhat dated. The bathroom was spotless. The air conditioning worked very well and quietly. The staff were very courteous and we requested and got a late check out.

Free parking as of Sept. 2025. Nice staff. In perfect close proximity to the fun stuff. Not the staffs fault but the building itself must've been made before today's required STC ratings ( sound transmission class ) meaning it's noisy as heck // easy to hear through floors / walls. Breakfast is provided but not free just a heads up. Yeah it's a little out dated, could use a interior lift project (roughed up patchy carpet tile, old hair dryers, scuffed walls, looks like a soap dish broke off the shower, etc. this spots definitely been loved ). That aside the cleaning crew is obviously doing their job, AC works like a charm, rough up but not at all terrible, see overall taken photos, and again it's in great distance of stuff.
