Holiday Inn Express Windsor Sonoma Wine Country by IHG

Hotel was easy to find. Close to freeway and easy to get to shopping and restaurants. Room was clean and the staff decorated it very nicely for my mom's birthday. They even provided a bottle of wine! The included breakfast was wonderful: eggs, sausage, bread, bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, strong coffee. We did not use the pool because it was chilly but it looked nice.

My daughter and I were in town for a wedding and she was the maid of honor. We needed an early check in which was accommodated which made it a much smoother process for us. The room was clean and quiet. Front desk staff was very quick and friendly upon check in. We were given a suite on the first floor. I believe the suites are advertised as having a patio/balcony, but this one did not, but that may have been because we were on the first floor. There were also supposed to be bathrobes which were not there. Breakfast was very good and a good variety of food. It was also nicely stocked when we got there at 9:00am and it was nice that they were still keeping the hot food fresh and available since breakfast ends at 10am. The rooms are spacious, the furniture comfortable, the beds exceptionally so. Quiet. The gym is smallish but there is a spa and pool. The hotel is convenient to downtown, walking distance; a fun bowling alley and 'neighborhood style' bar is next-door. Easy access to the highway.||Over the past year I probably had 10 visits and 20 nights visiting family in the area.||The management is attentive if a need was encountered. Since I travel quite a bit, that is important to me. Overall, our stay was comfortable and uneventful. Room provided a restful night’s sleep after a long day of driving. Guest restroom offered a tub and shower option. There is a guest laundry on the first floor, which is a bit steep in price ($7.50 for a load of laundry to be washed and dried). Front desk did not have enough quarters to purchase, so be advised. Parking is provided but a slight challenge for larger vehicles. Nice facility but not one I would stay at again.

We stay at this property often. When we arrived Lupita welcomed me back and had our favorite room ready. She was extremely professional, friendly, and exactly the type of person that you want to see at the front desk. I didn't comment on the breakfast offerings as we tend to pick up things at BurtoNZ Bakery to have for breakfast. But the property has always had a good mix of items in the past. This is our go to property in Russian River Valley.
