Holiday Inn Express Vero Beach-West (I-95) by IHG

Breakfast was especially nicely prepared, fresh and appealing. The lobby area and the gym is spotless. Friendly staff, greeted us at every opportunity. The location is next to a big outlet mall and a highway interchange so it's not central to Vero Beach downtown, but it's convenient enough. The room is clean and everything was working great. The bathroom was nicely prepared and fresh. We have visited two other Holiday inn properties recently and this was the nicest.

As a Rewards member, my first choice of hotel is always Holiday Inn Express. Never had an issue until now. We noticed when we entered the lobby that many ceiling tiles were down. We were told it was a water pipe problem. Our room on first floor had an awful odor (bleach/cleaner??) so strong we asked for a different room....moved to third floor....better but still some smell. The next morning the ceiling tile problem in the lobby had worsened and was now dripping steadily ready to fall.....with black mold! Due to Spring Break finding another hotel would not have been easy. We feel we paid for a nice room as usual but were VERY disappointed. This hotel should have been closed for repairs and cleanup of mold. Curdled milk at breakfast also.

We were on our way to Key West from Maryland.. We stopped for the night. Very clean. Friendly staff. Excellent Free Breakfast items. The room was very comfortable. Loved the pillows! We did not take advantage of the pool or fitness room but would have if we were there more than one night.

OVER CHARGED MY CC more than $9,000.00!!! Thats not a typo! OVER $9,000.00!! I had four rooms booked for two weeks with a couple more interspersed throughout our stay. Long story short when I got home I reviewed the invoices and they overcharged me by more than $9k. When I called to speak with the manager he was conveniently "out of the office" for a couple days. When I finally got in touch with him he told me to send him all the invoices and he would get it straightened out the following day. That didn't happen. I gave it four more business days and still no response. When I called to speak with him the front desk said he was on vacation for 2 weeks. Again, convenient. The man on the desk who checked us in was very friendly. It's always nice to see him. Margaret was amazing. She was very friendly and polite and offered excellent service for breakfast. She has such an uplifting attitude. She sent us off with a smile! Rooms are always clean and comfortable.
