Holiday Inn Express Tallahassee-University Central by IHG

I stayed here recently for a short trip to visit FSU, and overall, it was a pretty solid experience. The location is excellent if you have business at the university literally minutes away, which made moving around super easy. The check-in was smooth, and the staff at the front desk were friendly and quick to help with extra towels and directions. My room was clean, reasonably modern, and the bed was comfortable, which I appreciated after a long day of travel. A few things could be improved you can definitely hear traffic and hallway noise, so if you’re a light sleeper, you might notice it. Breakfast had a decent variety, nothing fancy, but enough to start the day. Wish they kept items stocked a little more consistently, though. Despite the small issues, I’d stay here again. We were in town for the FSU campus visit and needed a place to stay because our Air BnB didn't work out. Holiday Inn Express came through for us on a very busy weekday night. The hotel was safe, well lit, and easy to navigate plus breakfast was great at 7AM. There was some furniture missing from our room, the night stand and a light fixture were absent and the outdoor pool was missing some water (maybe seasonal but werent made aware when booking)

This was the worst Holiday inn I have ever stayed at. I arrived around midnight and went straight to sleep, the next morning I saw how disgusting the bathroom was. House keeping didn’t even attempt to clean it. I did not pay almost $200 to use a bathroom with urine all over the floor. Don’t even get me started on the breakfast. It tasted like it was days old. The pancake machine wasn’t working. The only food that tasted fresh was the cinnamon rolls. The front desk told me to email the manager since he is the only one who can authorize a refund. I have sent 3 emails and called the hotel over 15 times for a week trying to speak to the manager! They give me the run around that he just left or is not there but can take a message. The staff has contacted the manager and left messages for me. I

I travel weekly for work and will usually stay in one to two different hotels per week. This location was by my least pleasant experience. The woman who check me in was really short and unhelpful. She seemed inconvenienced when I asked questions. Cleanliness of the room was a 6/10. There was dired food on the floor around the trashcan, there was hair on the shower walls and on the floor around tub. There was a dried substance on the nightstand. There was definitely a mold issue going on. From the second I stepped into my room I experienced sinus congestion and a headache. There was strong mildew kind of smell. The road noise is 10/10.
