Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sweetwater by IHG

We just left this hotel. It really let us down. Upon checking in, the front desk clerk admonished me for using booking.com for our reservation. He informs us that his aunt owns the hotel and doesn’t like it when booking.com doesn’t pay the hotel properly. He then instructed me to call their customer service and demand booking.com pay the extra 7 bucks that they were owed. On the way to our room, we see signs stating the pool is “closed for maintenance.” Our room was just down the hall from there. We walk in and immediately noticed it smells musty. There’s peeling wallpaper everywhere. A half toilet paper roll left in the bathroom.. It was not a comfortable space to be in. The next morning, we go for breakfast and noticed that area is also seemingly falling apart. Rippled wallpaper everyw

This was the absolute worse hotel I have ever stayed at. I have stayed at several Holliday Inn’s before but I would never recommend staying here to anyone. Rooms are dirty, no water pressure, beds are terrible, had to ask the staff to clean the room and replace the towels after the first nights stay. This hotel should be shut down and totally remodeled. |Someone pointed out that the bagels in the case at breakfast had mold on them. The kitchen employee ended up finding it on about a dozen bagels and trashed them of course. Things like this is uncalled for to say the least. |Hotel staff was more interested in taking smoke breaks out front than doing anything that could possibly make this hotel a better place to stay. |Do yourself a favor and pass this one by !!!

Positives: The room was clean. The beds were comfortable, fresh linens, and neatly made; most of all, they were clean. This is a huge positive for us. The breakfast was good, with many choices and good taste, about what should be expected. I'd like to see more fruit options, but understand that can be expensive and spoil, so I get why there are only the low end of apples and ripening bananas. Negatives: The water in our shower would not shut off. The ottoman in our room was in disrepair and needs thrown out. The upholstery was falling off of it. There is missing baseboard in the room we stayed in. The carpets in the halls on both floors one and two were badly stained in many spots between the elevators and stair wells. At least have them cleaned, if not replaced. I booked the room for 4

Old, dirty, and worn down furniture. The day shift lady was really sweet. The kid working night shift wasnt great. My tv was stuck on one channel and they told me I could switch rooms and they couldnt find the maintenance man. Employees were standing outside the front door smoking. The shower head was covered in water scale, the couch was gross, the hallways were gross. Luckily the bed was clean and I was sure to check the mattress cover and crevices. Breakfast was good. But 1 nice employee and good breakfast doesnt make up for much.

I reserved the dbl KING suite. No hot water. Front desk didn’t alert before checking in. Rooms OLD!! Turned on light and was twilight zone. Flashing! Dresser was broken. Carpet worn out. Bathroom wall messed up. Spoke to AM manager and they said oh we’re having pressure issues. So it will flow cold but not hot???? Showed video of lights and damage. She said were got into be remodeling soon. You checking out? YEP!! That’s it. Not oh I’m sorry. NOTHING. Won’t be staying here. If I were told this I would have gone to next town and stayed. IHG do better.
