Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sulphur Springs by IHG

Overall, not the worst we’ve ever been at but again, you get what you pay for. Our stay wasn’t terrible. It was just a bit stuffy in here in the lobby which probably just needed the air cranked up, and our room did have a slight musty smell at first but a little AC fixed it right up lol. One of the beds did have a stain on the comforter, so we definitely did not get comfortable on that one 😅 thankfully we got a two-bed room, so we simply migrated to the cleaner bed and called it a night lol. The carpet in the room we stayed in could also use a good shampoo. It wasn’t a big deal… we just didn’t feel like playing detective trying to figure out what it was 😂 My only real suggestion would be for housekeeping to pay closer attention to bedding details that makes a big difference for guests.

Positive: Staff Negative: The room had a foul odor. It smelled of dog. Had to spray body spray (all we had) just to withstand the smell. Carpet was ripped at the entry point of the room. I had booked a king room but they had no king room. Front desk was friendly and apologetic.

Wow, what a great and positive experience my GF and I had here after a late night arrival and finishing the battle of exiting Dallas traffic and horrific road conditions. I honestly didn’t have high hopes, it was a last minute decision to pull over and stay here but I am so glad we did. The hotel in general and rooms are spotless. And the hotel is QUIET. We were worried about the hotel being so near the Interstate but turned out to be a complete non issue. Breakfast started right on time and fully ready. The owners are doing a really great job of offering a high quality stay for a very reasonable price. Especially in these times when everything seems to cost more daily. Easy lodging to recommend.

Let me start by saying I stay at IHG hotels at least 3-5 days/week almost every week for my job. So the disappointment in this hotel was real! We checked in around 7:30 pm for a 3 night stay (absolutely NO recognition of Platinum Elite status) and when we went to the room we were assigned it was dirty - both beds unmade, dirty towels on the floor. We went back to the front desk and it took him 5 minutes to find a different room for us - actually ended up taking a room that they had assigned to someone else...and also ended up being handicap accessible. When this was discovered I returned to the front desk and asked to be put in to a different room the next day, we would make do for the evening. I was assured that would happen. AND it did not. When I went to the desk the next day we were in

The gentleman at the desk, Mr. Gary Panchal, set the tone. Made my wife and I feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. This may be the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in, the room was spotless. Good air, comfortable beds. Breakfast was pretty decent. Next time we are in town, this is the place to stay.
