Holiday Inn Express & Suites St. Joseph Lakefront by IHG

You guys. This hotel tops all of them here in berrien county! They are renovating right now so sometimes loud, messy, and dusty, but you cant hear it on 3rd floor! Room 336 is THE BEST ROOM FOR FAMILIES!!!! GET IT! Staff...every single persom including all of the people doing renovations are incredible. Very professional and polite and welcoming. We will definitely be back for another staycation soon!

Perfect for the Location, With a Few Caveats We stayed here for a weekend getaway, and the location is truly unbeatable. Being right across from Lake Michigan was amazing. We got a room with a lake view, and watching the sunset from our balcony was easily the highlight of our trip. It's also super close to downtown St. Joe, so we could walk to shops and restaurants easily. The room itself was decent. The bed was really comfortable, which was a huge plus after a long day of walking around. The view, like I said, was spectacular. The only downside was that being right on Lakeshore Drive meant there was a surprising amount of traffic noise, even at night, which kind of took away from the peacefulness of the lake view. My wife and I desperately needed a Big Lake getaway the weekend of Jan. 10, but we didn't want to drive all the way from the Detroit area to northern Michigan in iffy January weather. The Holiday Inn Express in St. Joseph was the answer. We loved our extra large room (called a suite, but it wasn't really -- to me a suite implies a living area separate from the sleeping area) on the third floor facing Lake Michigan. In fact we spent a lot of time just enjoying the view of the stormy lake's huge waves. Icy temperatures and strong winds prevented us from enjoying the balcony, but we plan to be back in the summer! The only problem was the swimming area's hot tub -- while the jets sprayed enough water for a nice lower back massage, apparently they're set so that no air is mixed in with the wate

The location was great for our family visit to the children's museums and silver beach area. The room we stayed in was newly remodeled and very nice. Little touches weren't completed yet, like no light fixture cover in the bathroom, but the overall new remodel was great. The shower was wonderful except the sliding doors let alot of water out onto the floor during the shower which could be an issue if not realized. Breakfast choices were pretty standard to others we've stayed at, although only one egg option which our family didn't care for. Plenty of other options to have instead though. The pool area and hot tub were nice enough and the kids had a fun time swimming. Overall a pleasant stay!

Our suite was laid out well. Chair, couch, bed very comfortable. Hotel is under renovation but Marcia, the breakfast hostess more than made up for that. The hot eggs and sausage gravy some of best hotel food I’ve had.
