Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rockford - Loves Park, an IHG Hotel

If you enjoy being disrespected, lied to and then blamed for the lack of service then this is your place! I checked in with a lovely person and thought this is going to be great. I found out at check in that the pool was going to be closed. Ok, well out of everyone’s control. My daughter and I were staying for her sports tournament . She needed to be at the sports facility @ 7- 7:15 in the morning. I asked if they could grab something off of the breakfast bar for her so she could eat. I was told that they don’t do that. So we did have breakfast the next day. There were several grab and go items. Muffins, fruit and yogurt. The manager said they only do that if you have arranged it with them in a group ahead of time. Wouldn’t you get fed if you were there already? I asked if there could be s

Positive: Cleanliness and the staff was friendly and courteous. Negative: Breakfast was ok but we chose to go out for breakfast after the first morning.

Decent Stay with Some Maintenance Concerns – Worth It for the Location and Breakfast I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rockford-Loves Park in late December 2025, and overall it was a solid, no-frills overnight stop. The front desk staff was genuinely nice and friendly — they made check-in smooth and welcoming, which is always appreciated. The room was quiet (great since the area is super peaceful with no outside noise), and the beds were comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The hot breakfast was a highlight — the daily menu board was super helpful for knowing the options each day, and I loved the bean-to-cup coffee makers. They make a really fresh, tasty cup every time. Pro's: Good location, reasonably priced, large rooms, comfortable bed with nice linens, large breakfast room with good selection. Lobby and halls were clean.||Con's: I was told the room would be cleaned every other day but I stayed 3 nights and my room was never cleaned by staff. I had to request clean towels each day. There was debris, lint etc. in corners and baseboards and I wasn't confident the counters in the room and bathroom were properly cleaned/sanitized.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere felt clean and welcoming. The customer service at the front desk was excellent—everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional, and eager to help. One thing I would mention for future guests: the Two Queen Suite doesn’t always include a pull-out bed, even if the online photos show one. In our case, the room had a couch but no sleeper sofa. This could definitely surprise travelers who are counting on the extra bed. Thankfully, the front desk staff handled the situation wonderfully. The gentleman at the desk quickly brought us a rollaway bed, which worked out perfectly and saved the night.
